I made onion pie with a recipe from the 1700s I got from Townsend's KZread channel. It was fantastic! An onion, an apple, a potato, a couple boiled eggs, spices and dough, and you can feed a family. 😆

Those recipes were developed by people who managed to survive during the Depression or the WWII shortages. I rather think those people were top-of-the-line frugalists.

If you are not already aware of it you should look into the fascinating history of the Talbotton short line railroad (sadly long gone)and the Talbotton family who were the long time owner/operators. I will try to get some copies of vintage railfan articles about this operation to you that you should find interesting.

Happy first day of Spring! Did you two know that Novas didn't sell at all in Mexico when they first came out? Translated from Spanish, No va means "doesn't go." One of the earliest Novas was owned by my neighbor and he, I and three others would carpool together. We were never in any hurry to get to school, but coming home, we'd spin by the beach and watch LAX jets take off. 1969. I'm glad you and Mr. Scott are getting the Chevy in top operational form. I learned to drive on a '56 Chevy station wagon. That was a tank! Hey, does your doorframe on the bottom have a "Body by Fisher" placard? Ours did.

I learned a trick this year doing my front brakes as I was having trouble getting the bolts loose-turn the front end so you can get in behind the rotor easier. In my case as well, it enabled me to put a longer breaker bar on.

Those disc brake kits move the wheels out 7/8 “ on each side. You can make zero offset disc brakes with brackets from mg chevy, 61-68 Impala hubs, 79 Tran-Am rear rotors and big D-52 calipers from a Chevelle. Works great and looks right!

Check the brake hoses. Even if its new the hose could be collapsed and not letting full pressure through or only letting the fluid return slowly. Love the old 57 with the US army on the door

Hi Robert, that book that Dan gave to you was very cool, here is something that is funny. Mary and I went to our local swap meet here in California and you will never guess what we found, oh yes it was the White Trash Cookbook. We laughed when we said it. What are the odds of that, since we have not been to the swap meet in over 5 years and that is what we found. Your book is famous. Have a great day

Robert, Great to see Scott again and his place is just beautiful. I Liked Scott's minie tool box stool, that was awesome and so convenient to have everything you need while working on your car. Robert, is that the Same Train station place that you and Dan where when filming?? that is now all gone?? Hey Scott.. The McCoy Murder??? Seriously?? Would love to know more about that. Happy that the breaks are working now, and it may be things just needed to be replaced and adjusted better. God bless you both.

On April 5, 1896, while visiting the McCoy family for Easter Miss Sallie Emma Owen (the town debutant) was murders by Dr. Ryder (the town dentist) who he was sweet own (but she did not return his affection). The murder took place at the Blount-McCoy-Maxwell house. After fleeing the scene the Dr. decided to off himself, but was captured and imprisoned. He was found guilty in his first trial and sentenced to hang. However, he came from a prominent Atlanta family who were able to get him a second trial due to a technical issue of his hanging date. While his second trial seemed to drag along with one delaying motions after another, meanwhile the community had had enough. They formed a lynch mob, ceased Dr. Ryder from deputies and strung his sorry ass up just before the sheriff's posse could save him. His family and the governor of Ga at the time tried to prosecute the lynch mob, but no one was ever indicted. This is a Hollywood story waiting to be told. Love, lust, murder, and tragedy, it has it all. I've only given the short version of the story and it is just one of the many in our small town of Talbotton, Ga. Miss Sallie Emma Owen (besides reportedly being a looker) was a well accomplished young lady. A graduate of Wesleyan College, she taught music and singing at the local private school in Sunny Valley near her home. She was associated with several societies and women's club in the city of Talbotton and her name has numerous appearances in the local newspaper at the time. Let's just say she was the Belle of the Ball. Here is one of the things that keeps this story going. Her blood stains are still on the floor of the house. I've talked to several old timers (good Baptist and Methodist folks) who have either lived in or had access to the Bount-McCoy-Maxwell house and they swear her ghost is still there. They say the chair still rocks back and forth on it's own where she was murdered. I talked the present occupant once and as he caught my eyes looking at the parlor window and he said to me "it's true". I'm trying to be a good neighbor and not pri too much. Google "1896 murder Talbotton Ga." your sure to find some great reads. Sorry for writing a book, but you asked for it.(Scott)

Like I said earlier Miss Sallie was well accomplished, well she also came from a well established family in Talbot County. Her father built and maintained The Elms Plantation before and after the civil war (he was a Major in the CSA). Descendants of the Owen family still own and maintain The Elms today. The tree limb that Dr. Ryder was lynched from was cut off and given to the family and it resides in the house to this day. Just thought that was some good info. (Scott)

More work on the '57, great, enjoyed that! And the tour, the college and church look interesting. So, did the setters talk about the '57? I knew Big Chic would be part of this. Reduce consumption of fried foods, you said? That ain't the way to do'er! 😂👍👍

3:32 looks like the brake hose is not clipped to the bracket. A little rubbing metal can blow a line. I watch a lot of mechanic vids. I've seen many times parts fail in a short time or are bad right out of the box. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good.

its probably the brake hose is collapsing on the inside (mustve just been caliper slide sticking on left side reason for more dust on that side and brake was on partially all the time so when you hit the brake it went to the right)
