well if you want pure iron crystals then membrane electrolysis actually is good!! the membrane prevents iron 3 ions from easily forming as it prevents iron ions going thru the anode chamber.

It's gotta be an F block element. My money is on Th, but it might be a lanthanide with a white oxide. That would be La, Ce or Lu. (Not sure of other possibilities.) Use of the gas canister is a great idea. I might copy that. My problem is that I have no furnace and will have less temperature control with a flame.

Wenn es Eisen wäre, könnte man es einfach mit einem Magneten aus dem Gemisch isolieren. Ni und Co sind auch ferromagnetisch, bei denen würde das also auch funktionieren.

The biggest problem with Th is both the metal and the oxide are solid at 1150C. The CaO is too, and only the Ca metal would be liquid. I guess this might explain the fairly bad yield then? I wonder if somehow agitating the reaction vessel might help?

@@THYZOID I do not know of any, the closest thing to it in the papers seems to be a centrohexaindane, which is just centrohexaquinacene attached to a bunch of benzenes. There is likely some kind of a paper somewhere about it. You could do a similar process as when you remove the benzenes from indane to get cyclopentene and 2-butene

huh. It would be weird for it to be thorium. You can just buy 4 percent thoriated welding electrodes here. I never thought about trying to separate the thorium from he tungsten though. I guess a lot of sketchy chinese "ion bracelets" and things are full of thorium oxide. That would honestly be easier and cheaper.

    - The metal must be toxic or dangerous in some way, since you had to use a gas mask - Its oxide is white - It doesn't seem to melt at the temperatures in your furnace - The title of your video wrote "something" in an odd way, with the t being capitalized - You're being oddly vague about it, which hints that YT might not like it My guess is it might be element 90. Am I correct?
