Good review. I've nearly bought the salmon version but then the price went up. An appealing watch despite flaws.

Good looking watch. Would work perfectly as a dress watch. Slightly thick but think it works. Nice review as usual

Absolute gorgeous dial and color combination I must say. Just for that alone I am tempted to get that watch, I can imagine how it would look on a blue suede strap 😮 Thanks for the review

Very nice find, I had no idea there was a Chinese made jump hour. I guess Vario has one but I'm not sure what movement they use. I just wish they had polished it to better fit the dressy design cues.
@PerthWAtch

Yeah polish would’ve been great. Vario could be a Japanese movement… I haven’t looked at theirs
If it ddn't have that brand namw I would be tempted. I would have preferred Merkur. Great value, and great review

@ajmarion

I think the name is WAY better than 99% of AliX watch brand names 😂. Parnis, Rdunae, Berny, Parnsrpe, and many more
They really should have made the open circle on the minute hand go directly over the hour number, totally missed opportunity there.

I like that idea!
I like jumping hrs & these are quite attractive , under $100 a its worth a punt but i'd much rather it just said Merkur or their logo other than that bs name & tbf it looked good on wrist , & how was comfort btw with stock strap & overall case dimensions Ivan ?
@PerthWAtch

Name too tacky? Comfort is absolutely fine - hard to go far wrong with leather, even if poorer quality
I just got the salmon dial and it’s very nice. Mine came in different packaging.

What kind of packaging?
@rndmgoon
10 ай бұрын
They only send this specific packaging to KZreadrs doing reviews for them. Anyone else purchasing watches they come in what looks like a zippered glasses case. Also guessing this was “gifted” to the reviewer following the review.
@PerthWAtch
10 ай бұрын
Is the other packaging better or worse? Not sure if this was “gifted”, but more pertinent is what’s your point?
@rndmgoon
10 ай бұрын
My point is it should be made clear in videos of the watches under review if they have been purchased directly or sent in to the reviewer and then kept as payment for the review. It’s confusing for the consumer to know if they will get the exact same deal or something else. In the case of Merkur (from what I’ve seen) they send the leather pouch to reviewers only unless purchased separately. Everyone else usually gets the lower quality zippered pouch. Apologies if you paid for this from your own money. It’s just not clear from your review.
@PerthWAtch

If the issue is just the difference in packaging then I wholly disagree. They never advertised that and therefore can send whatever. It’s the watch that needs to be consistent and as advertised. Besides, it’s the word of one person telling me that reviewers get different to others - no way to confirm and more crucially, it’s simply NOT important.
The way they did the manual is a good idea... People will see the different watches they have available... Good way to advertise...
@PerthWAtch

Yeah in way that’s true… but I think the real reason is simpler: laziness
@syndicatedsatellite7288
11 ай бұрын
@@PerthWAtchIt would be madning to get the wrong watch manual, especially for those that want a manual with their watch... This way they got the right manual... If they are lazy like you suggested, they would probably put the wrong manual in with the watch if the manuals are separate...

It is an interesting & "NICE" watch for anyone who is partial to a jumping hour automatic. As you said, I love the boxed crystal (would have been much better if it were Sapphire :+) well designed dial & hand and case back design. However, as a dress watch, it is bit too thick. This watch being a manual wind, I am sure that they can get it down to 11mm or even less with flat or "less boxed" crystal. That really would have been nice. As for the strap, of course, you got to change that out to a better one. Thanks again, Ivan. take care.
@PerthWAtch
11 ай бұрын
Thanks as always Alex! I totally agree they could’ve and should’ve made this thinner. Shave a bit off the crystal and the case and get it to around 11mm and it’d be sweet.
It's a shame that the case doesn't match how good the dial looks , as the dial is great.

When you do see other jumping hour watches, they are invariably far more expensive than the Pierre Paulin. I am amazed at how cheap this watch is, but it doesn't look like a cheap watch it's a nice looking interesting watch. One that I might be interested in purchasing. I have seen a couple of reviews now, and they have been pretty positive.

Yes, I agree, it does not look like a cheap watch. There are other options available that are not too expensive but this is probably as good as it gets in terms of sheer value.
