Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your story. I have been in your shoes AND I also had people tell me how great and skinny I looked when I was actually really sick. Never should people comment on bodies even when they think it's a compliment as it could actually hurt someone.

Alexandra Gater I am not the type of person who likes to share publicly about my personal life but I think you’re amazing and I love all your videos and you really inspire me! I am literally just had surgery last week because late last year I had bloating issues as well. Turns out it was endometriosis and cysts. I had it all removed and I am in recovery now. I know all that you’re going through. I know comments online can be painful but it’s more when it comes from family and friends. I am just glad that it’s all taken care of and I really do hope that you pin point what’s going on with you. Keep being awesome!!!

First of all Alexandra, you look AMAZING. I suffer from the same symptoms and I got some days where even people were offering me their seats on the train here in NYC. I went to different doctors and they wouldn't find the cause. Till I find a doctor that suggested it was Candida overgrowth in my intestine (because of antibiotics my good bacteria died and the yeast took over). I had to stop eating bread, anything with yeast, and mushrooms, and 0 sugars, even fruit! But after a month eating like that, I started feeling so good! No nausea, no vomit, no bloating. Now I can eat "normal" again but very clean and the problems disappeared. Hope you feel better soon!

I can so relate from 1998 to 2002 I was sick from my stomach almost everyday. I tried many things, removing foods, times I ate, over counter meds, a colonoscopy, going to doctors .....nothing helped. So in the summer of 2002 my son was going away to college so I asked for the summer off to be home. That first day in June I didn't get sick, and that continued all summer I didn't get sick..............for me it was STRESS at work. I had to change things at my JOB.....I have been good ever since. My daughter had chronic stomach issues her junior year of high school. So bad she had to stay home for a semester and homeschool. She cut out all dairy and eventually became vegan. Also nothing fried, processed, spicy. It took time to heal her stomach but a lot was due to stress and anxiety, along with lactose intolerance and food sensitivities. Now she can eat meat but still no dairy or spicy foods. She’s a freshman in college now and a lot better. It was a horrible experience for her so I feel for what you are going through. I pray you get the right medical care to solve your problem 🙏🏻

Damn! You're cat's a model! U go girl. I wish you good health my dear! 😊 I have a friend at church who was diagnosed with Crohn's and she received soooo many annoying comments when her weight drastically changed. But she eventually adjusted her diet and gained confidence after understanding what her body was going through. Plus she's a fabulous dresser who always looks fierce so I'm sure that was a confidence boost Lol

I just wanted to let you know how amazing you are, watching your videos has inspired me to work on my own place, starting my love for interior design on KZread. The first video I watched was your makeover for a small space with a cat. Having 3 fur babies myself, I found it extremely helpful to know that you can still have good design even with litter boxes, who knew! I also never thought of using velvet material for furniture from your home makeover videos. Didn’t know that it wears better than most fabrics against cat claws. I could go on but I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate all that you do.

We watch you for home decor, because you are so talented but we also watch you because you are you, beautiful, smart, fun, and wonderfully adorable and in Toronto and who doesn't live that city. All I ever noticed were your lovely spaces you created and shared, stylish decor and fantastic finds for small spaces, cute knobs or my fave -because I rarely splurge on myself-the lady towel hook, and now even at my middle age, I find I like pom poms. Feel better, hope they figure it out for you. ps Lotties photos shoot was great, that cat stole the show.

Mind blown with how you cut up your scone! 🤣 I thought everyone cut the top off and ate each section separately. Also, thank you for sharing. I’m going through similar issues and find myself hiding in baggy clothes to avoid those types of questions. Why are people so cruel and thoughtless? ❤️

I wish you so much luck in your journey to being diagnosed! I’m a GTA based videographer and was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s disease after quite a battle between doctors and surgeons. And also thank you for bringing awareness to how difficult it can be to hear comments about your body when in reality it is a medical issue. Good luck and thank you for being inspiring and positive all the time!

I’ve been dealing with IBS for as long as I can remember. I recently underwent a bunch of tests in hopes that it was something more treatable. Unfortunately, everything came back normal, so I was diagnosed with IBS. You are not alone in your pain. I’ve been finding a lot of support online and just knowing there are people out there who understand my issues and can empathize with how difficult some days are is the most amazing thing. Stomach issues are embarrassing AF, so to have people to talk to about it is great. Thanks for sharing your story! Sorry that people are so intrusive (FWIW I never noticed).

As a huge fan of your videos and someone who has also been going through some similar health issues, I just want to say how much I admire all you are able to accomplish while waiting for a diagnosis and answers. Not knowing has definitely been the most frustrating aspect for me, so I really appreciate you sharing and hope you have answers soon. I can also imagine it's beyond frustrating to have to address rude or invasive comments on top of everything, so I also applaud you for calling that out on your channel, and I wish you all the best.

Dear Alexandra, My name is Elena, I live in Curaçao and I love your videos! I never wrote before because I'm kind of shy about these things, but I thought you should hear how much I enjoy your videos. How amazing your taste and your decorativa skills are (even with no formal training!) The positive energy you project and how hard you work is just astonishing. I'm sure it must be hard, but just think of all the goodness you're doing by spreading all the kindness and good advice you so unselfishly give. The rest just comes with the territory.... you come across as a very kind and noble soul and I guess that's why you're affected by those thoughtless comments. I hope your stomach problems will be all solved and that we can continue enjoying your amazing work.

Thank you so much for this video 😩❤️ I have crohn’s and it’s definitely warped my perception of myself, my body, and my relationship with food soooo much. After 15 years I’m finally starting to understand my body and respect it enough to try to build a better relationship with myself. Anyways I appreciate your vulnerability so much; you don’t owe us that but I hope you know I/we appreciate it. I hope you get a diagnosis and support, keep on rockin ❤️❤️❤️

Sending you virtual hugs, Alexandra! I too have gastric issues (GERD) and the worst episode I had was 7 years ago and I had to be hospitalized. Now I have learned how to deal with it although once in a blue moon, I still have bloated belly problems / stomach pain when I am too stressed or I don't eat on time. Lottie is super adorable! I am always overjoyed when I see her in your videos.

Awww sweetie, I'm so sorry your dealing with this health issue. You are so beautiful & strong and I'm positive you will find a proper care plan. I have a life long health issue too. In the beginning I would not accept it, I thought it made me weak. However, I rose up to meet my challenges and I know you will too. My struggles made me that much more sensitive to others around me. Because as you said, we don't know what goes on behind the scenes. I'm sending you lots of Love!!

Wishing you the best of luck on your health journey. My daughter was just diagnosed with IBS after 15 years of tummy issues. It's been 6 weeks since her diagnoses and she's doing a 100 times better with the changes the doctor told her to make. It's a lifestyle change but all worth it in the end. Best of luck!! PS...You remind me so much of my daughter which is why I started watching your videos now I'm just hooked.

Hope you feel well very soon. I suffer from bloating too which is very painful. I was diagnosed with IBS and gluten & lactose intolerance. Sometimes they don’t show in tests but you would feel the difference when changing your diet. I also would recommend mint tea and hot pack for your tummy when you’re not feeling your best. Get well soon 🌸

I think you are delightful and absolutely lovely. I am so sorry for the comments, even the well-meaning ones. My nephew has Crohn's. My family is so grateful that he is doing so well with medication. We raise money and awareness in a fun charity event every year for Crohn's and Colitis in the US where so many people, most of them young, who are affected tell their stories and struggles and are literally the faces of hope and resilience. There is so much great research and so much support for these conditions. So whatever your diagnosis, wishing you well and letting you know there is a whole community of people who live really well and thrive. I think you have helped a lot of people just by sharing what you are going through (and doing it with kittens which makes everything better). Hang in there. Every day is different and all are filled with wonder.

Alexandra...I just discovered your channel over the past week and even though I am old enough to BE YOUR MOTHER I have been thoroughly enjoying your creativity. You are a beautiful soul and when I watched this it made my heart hurt. I know this isn't what you are looking for (and this particular video is 2 1/2 months old so maybe you won't even read this) but I want you to know that you are amazing...you have a cute body, a pretty face, great hair, honest, warm eyes...I can't stop watching. And you even motivated me to do some much needed touch up painting today. On a lighter note, my kitty (Sara) also likes to watch you and she got really interested when you were combing your fingers through your hair...she was literally trying to jump into my laptop screen. OK, that's all I have...keep doing what you are doing...270K subscribers is no joke...remember that and give yourself a big hug for me. :)
