Man, i did mine over lockdown, damp, structure roof, refabricates aluminium sheeting and all, was hell of a job lots aff tears, but all worth it when done. have some photos that would make you cringe during the process lol! basicly the aluminium becomes very porus with tiny hols, had to shine light through the skin on entire van lol...my god...Ive loads of tips, what to focus on and what not easy to get losts on these and i prob went well over the top. When you get it warm, water tight ect it does the job of a 60k van so its worth it in the end and i would say more character and i love the size of these, parking small uk roards ect wouldnt want anything bigger perfect. getting it all tuned up is key, .

the fuel capacity for a talbot express is 70L. Divide that by 4 to get quarter of a tank = 17.5L, Convert that in to Gallons = 3.8 Gallons. Now divide the 37 miles by 3.8 gallons and it turns out your averaging 9.7 miles to the imperial gallon. Lovely stuff!

@@RSPYT wouldn't it be great if we could swop out are petrol and diesel engines for affordable electric batteries and motors . I would do it tomorrow if I could afford it . I'm enjoying your channel it was cb and radios that got me watching but I like all thinks machinal including camper Van's. I don't know what you do for a living but I'm guessing something to do with driving diggers

I reckon you could shove a dirty diesel in that talbot. A Renault f9q diesel engine pre dpf 😁. Those engines went into loads of cars and vans. More smiles to the gallon

I had a Talbot horizon back in the 80s that was exactly the same, you sort of wondered where 5th gear was. You might get lucky with the heater and put a jet washer through it. It cured a van that I had. My Son Ben's Fiesta heater packed up years ago and the hot and cold control was electric so I took it apart and jammed it on full hot which was great until summer came and then I was the nasty Dad for "doing it on purpose " ha ha.
