There is an idolisation of Harry Kane in the English media that doesnt make any sense at all. He has achieved a lot as a club player, but he is not a leader, especially at international level. The one thing we miss on the field is a leader, someone who makes everyone pull their socks up. Kane simply doesnt do that, he complains a lot to the referee, and thats about it. The best teams have strong leadership which breeds a strong mentality.

Correct. Kane should have done the honorable thing, accepted that he just ain't good enough and withdrew himself from selection after the very first game. He took a place in a team which would have been better filled by ANY of the other sub attackers. They were playing with 10 men with him on the pitch. His selfish ego has cost us.

The caller before was right, Gareth's substitutions weren't a masterclass, it was desperation. Yep I don't think you play all those games in such a short space of time if you are injured. I said it before the tournament even started that Kane's legs have gone and that is why he consistently drops back up the pitch. He wouldn't run away from my granny at this stage of his career. For Bayern he can get away with it because they have so much possession and the runners to do his running - he simply has to hang about the box and wait for his chances to come.

I remember that goal, brilliant free kick by Eriksen, I'm a Spurs fan, when Kane ran away claiming that goal after nearly stopping it going in the net, it told me everything I need to know about him and since the 2019 UCL final where he should have declared himself unfit to start I've never wanted to see him in a Spurs shirt again. Wherever he goes, his goal stats, usually against inferior opposition cover over the fact he doesn't do ultimately what a player of the stature that is bestowed upon him should do in those moments and games when it is critical and true top players do at least 4 or 5 times out of 10. Kane doesn't, never has when it comes to the crunch.

I don't know about Kane, but if I were to guess, I don't think he is injured. Rather, I think he needs to a psychiatrist. I don't see him trying that extra 10% when it comes to finals. He needs to be Englands #1 man, their captain, however, in games he looks lost and is lacking in belief.
