Here's another theory. Mario is stuck in a painting. The painting is like in sm64, it makes you get in another world. So mario, by going into the painting, get in the world of cappy form odyssey We see what happen in the painting in the vudeo "i am the cappytain now" Wich also explain why there is ghosts with cappy , its because they all work for king boo to make mario possesed by cappy who is the speedrunner demon. Maybe its kind of a repetitive timeline.

I somehow never noticed this in the playlist, so this is my first time seeing this. It's (almost) perfect timing!
