Wow, this felt like I was watching a sci-fi movie with amazing narration. Some of those endings were devastating. I'm glad I watched until the end to see them get progressively more bearable.

Yeah this game got a lot more movie like when the travel and puzzle sections where cut out lol I tried to put the endings in an order that made sense to the overall story of the game, let it gradually move from bad to good...thank you for noticing that!!!
🤔Some additional thoughts: 1. The 3 humanoid soldiers were also aliens familiar with the invading ones and came to earth in the past (the colors landing in the ocean) to prepare for the invasion by training how to destroy the simulation pods. Or it could be that the colored comets were remnants of power from space that the humans learned to control over years of testing. 2. The humanoids each had to learn to control a particular power which mirrored the alien’s power in an effort to use their weapons against them. 3. The situation didn’t go as planned and the blue solider landed in the family’s home before dying and the red solider watched and waited to see how the man would utilize the power. The red soldier eventually felt comfortable saving the man and also giving him the red power as the man he helped the orbs (which were friendly, even with humans) and didn’t abuse the power. 4. Looks like the soldiers were aware of the simulation and potential for death and figured out how to transfer additional information and memories even within the simulation. 5. The researchers in the under water training facility had to test his ability to use the powers to see if he could take the place of the original soldiers. The red solider was on his way to the church anyway (he turned into one after dying and there was a glowing purple light in the solider version of the church…just as the purple soldier was waiting for the man in the actual church) and called ahead to the purple solider to let them know he’d found the man. 6. The tranquil sea base where the man received the power in the simulation, was where the real purple solider ended up but there were also simulated replicas of the blue and red solider (who were actually dead by that point). The simulations provide the trapped person a sense of peace and normalcy so they won’t be suspicious (just like in the Matrix) If you enjoy sci-fi narrative adventures, here is a ending breakdown of Last Stop: Last Stop All Endings Explained kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGWIts2Ieta1nZc.html
I know a lot of comments have said this already but thanks for breaking this down. Genuinely lost when it came to the ending of the game and you explaining it cleared all my questions up.

You're so welcome! I'm glad this was helpful! The ending was super confusing and didn't make sense until I really reviewed the footage and connected the dots, so I'm glad this helped the game make more sense to you!
This is the only explained video of this game I could find, and I enjoyed it very much! I hope to see more explained videos from you!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! There are a couple on the channel already and I'm definitely working on more, hopefully you return and find one that interests you!
After I read that you can decode the alien language by pay attention and practicing with the small orbs, I managed to understand most, and communicate with the aliens to get the good ending. It also helps playing along with the orbs, because the react with signals to certain situations, giving you more data to decode the language. Watching the children in the spheres and their flashlight also helps.

Ok pretty sure it's just a glitch but when I first took control of the dad I just went straight downstairs and touched nothing and then the family was pretty much teleported down there and the dad died which confused me for I while until I saw this which confirmed it was indeed a glitch

Thanks for these explanations. My 8 year son and I have enjoyed playing it, and we have each found different endings. You gave me a few more than I was not aware of, and my son and I will need to watch your video and play again! Also, the kids in the pods? I think that is his kid grown up in different situations, and he is able to see into the future of what can be. That was pretty cool for me to think about. Amazing game! Reminded me of "Out of this World" from 1991. That was another amazing story game.

That’s an interesting perspective about it being the adult version of his son. It very well could be! It’s nice that you can select by chapter so you don’t have to start all of the way over (unless you want to!)…it was nice getting all of the endings and seeing all of the possibilities.

@@theindiejurnee While playing, I interpreted the kids in the pods as the younger versions of the three soldiers (btw, the blue one was wearing leg prosthetics, did you notice?) who all had alien encounters as a kid, in their home or while riding a bike and such. But now that I watched your video, I'm more convinced you're right, and that those were just some of the kids the main character frees from the simulation pods, so that they can all join hands with him at the end. Anyway, your video is absolutely amazing and should be a mandatory watch for everybody who played the game. Something I was hoping you did was figuring out how exactly the "discussion" with the aliens that leads to the Understanding ending works. I see you collected a lot of clues along the road in the form of the color codes the player can find throughout the landscape, or flashed by the little orbs. I had to consult a guide to unlock that ending. Did you ever work out if we're using actual sentences that we learned? Otherwise I can't understand how we were supposed to know what to input. Somebody must have figured it out, right? (Unless they just brute-forced it). Also, I still don't get what the little orbs are. They clearly have come with the aliens, but why aren't they hostile? In fact, they seem willing to help the main character, so are they rebelling against their masters?

@@Kumagoro42 Thank you so much for the kind words! There was so much to this game and I really spent a lot of time trying to work every bit and piece out that I could but the language part was so difficult. I do think the drawings represented past and future but I couldn't find enough consistency in the flashes to make everything make sense. And, honestly, your theory about the kids being younger versions of the soldiers is a pretty sound theory. One that I hadn't even considered but it would definitely give them motivation to be a part of all of this. I think the small orbs were either a section of the alien race that didn't agree with what the bigger aliens were doing or maybe...pets or companions? I don't know but pets is always kinda what I saw them to be. Maybe they were considered lower life forms of some sort on their home planet and just weren't respected, but the humans were kind to them so they decided to join the fight. Maybe lol This video has done well but, overall, this style of video wasn't a good fit for this channel (lots of YT algorithm stuff behind the scenes) so I have started making videos like this on another channel Mythic Story Box (in my "channels" section) to give them a chance to grow a bit more. I've covered games like Planet of Lana and Dredge already. If you were interested, here is the link. @@theindiejurnee I like the idea of lesser life forms for the little orbs. But they must have some special properties, too. As you noted, the humans at the end melt them in the experimental chamber to create the purple sphere (it was a bit upsetting, to be honest). I'll check your other channel for sure!

I don't understand the purple part 11:30 so is that a dream? I don't get it since this part didn't happen to us before unlike the Red and the Blue power transfer. Thanks btw for this great video. I think if we are patient enough to forgive the controller and some of the issues this game had, I will give it a solid 8/10, only once we realize the game had the understanding ending, otherwise, I think most people will be disappointed by the ending.
@theindiejurnee

I believe the the purple part was the the purple soldier's containment. In each containment with the children, you see them just living their life in a simulation...something to keep them at peace so that they do not realize they were in a simulation. So, for the purple soldier, this is their simulation where their friends are still alive (in actuality they are dead now) and since the man was able to enter the simulation, he was able to get the power from the purple soldier.

Thanks! The only one I needed a guide for was the "understanding" ending because it was super long, and I would have never figured it out. I knew I had to learn the patterns, but they seemed so inconsistent at times to me. The other endings I found by just trying variations of patterns since I kinda figured it was based on light "talking." I knew how many endings there were when I double-checked to be sure that I found them all (then discovered that complicated Understanding one that idk how most people would have figured out)

It's what I think too. But somebody must have cracked that code, if those guides exist. Unless they just blindingly tried all the possible combinations, which are a lot, since you need to input three sequences of nine flashes.
@theindiejurnee

@@Kumagoro42 I kind of figured either someone was SUPER smart enough to crack the code or someone was given the code by the developer. Because I found it in a guide that was by a major website (I have forgotten which one) and if anyone was given extra tips from the devs, it would have been a site like that. But they said that you could figure out the language of by the orbs throughout the game but there were so many times that it was difficult to decipher the flashes. I really worked at it. For instance when they are all released from the portable toilet, they do not all flash the same pattern, so they were saying different things in response to the same action. So Idk.

@@theindiejurnee I'm thinking maybe it's all in the graffiti. The little orbs flashing stuff is just to make us understand that that's their language. But the actual "Rosetta stone" is the bits and pieces of various concepts we find written on walls and buildings. It's just, I wouldn't have the patience to figure it out myself (too many games to play!), but I'd love to know what the discussion that basically constitutes the "true" ending of the game actually says.
i was in love to the game but so clueless i get mad i dislike it so i get here and i like the game again but i notice i get one of the bad endings so mad again XD

Every Playdead (now game Jumpship) are perplexing yet intriguing once understood, but this was disappointing compared to their previous work... Thanks for the explanation though. The game is somewhat entertaining and slightly intriguing but a little disappointing compared to Limbo and Inside. Although, none are great even though the first two were very intriguing at the time.
This is probably the worst story explaining video I've ever seen. The story isn't explained at all. It's basically an audio subscription of what happens visually...
