Guilty as charged! Tortoise fur grooming is the worst. But they cannot go to competition without it. But it's nothing compared to frogs.

I've had the same thoughts, but then realized the smell can be utterly gag-inducing. Having done my own fat-burg removal in my kitchen drain pipe, it's a smell you won't forget. Lets just hope that KZread doesn't introduce smell-o-vision. :D

If this keeps happening with the grease build up then the landlord should start thinking about charging the tenants for dumping it in the drain. I know it's good for you but a pain for them and the tenants. Right after I wrote the previous paragraph here comes the shells? Who in their right mind puts sea shells in the drain?? Crushed up or not? Just might as well put some cement down there. Ooops I've seen that has well. If my landlord found out my unit was causing something I wouldn't do it anymore. Signage should read: NOTICE TO ALL TENANTS AND VISITORS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY PLEASE DO NOT THROW AWAY SEAFOOD SHELLS, COOKING GREASE (ANY) VARIOUS NON BIODEGRADABLE OBJECTS. TENANTS WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND/ALL PLUMBING AND/OR TREATMENT TO FIX ANY ISSUES. ALSO PLEASE DO NOT DISPOSE OF ANY SORT OF WIPE (IF OF IT SAYS FLUSHABLE) If you are looking for to throw anything away cash is the preference but we also take cashapp, venmo etc!

Good work as always. Tho I've noticed oil and grease are frequently in the drains you unblock. How is oil disposed of where you are? In Australia we are encouraged to tip.old oil into old bottles and put in the bin. Commercial places they get a truck to come and take the old oil away

tbh it's like america where residential houses dont seem to have a very good option, resteraunts have those services to take all the old oil but households seem to just be left up to themselves, responsible people try to just put it in bottles, let it get cold, and then throw it away like that

Actually if you live in a single family house there should be little worry about that, unless the pipes have horrendous slope and are put together like Legos. That Lego bricks part got me. We shouldn't be flushing grease/fats straight down the drain, since that's a majority of the problem, I guess this can apply to hair/fur, rice, and seafood shells too. The grease/fats thing should be well known, but there are those who ignore it or keep doing it like the instruction doesn't exist at all. If one has used paper towels and empty cartons of any kind, open them up and stuff the used paper goods inside ("clean" dirty, like used only to dry hands) to absorb the grease.

  • @MK_ULTRA420

It's just shells dumped into and ground up in the garbage disposal by tenants who either don't know or don't care. The shells smell like low tide sometimes which is why some people don't like keeping them in the trash bin.

I never understood the purpose of garbage disposals in sinks. Even ground up, all that waste still fills up the pipes eventually. And they stink! Just put your food waste in the compost, it's better that way for everyone.

Probably lack of education/awareness campaigns on drains. Not saying they are uneducated but things fall between when getting a place. Like my bf didnt know that you shouldn't pour grease down, until i told him. Also missleading products such as wet wipes saying one thing, but actually its another
