I’ve always thought of Julian as the next gen of Bill and here they are so far beyond fantabulous I am utterly astounded (for the millionth time at least)!!!!!

So incredibly brilliant. Reminds me of the interaction of Bill Evans and Jim Hall. Each responding to the other like they are one musical mind almost.

Bill sounds distinctly himself on any guitar - the tonal clarity, the melodic angularity, the peculiar note lengths, the little thoughtful pauses, the yearning scent of restraint.

His guitar sounds way better than the other guy's...haha for sure. It's the "adult" guitar sound that I grew up with.

Bill and Julian together, is a concentration of knowledge and talent that shouldn’t be able to coexist in the same space. Surprised the building didn’t fold in on itself! Love the way they obviously appreciate each other’s playing. Fantastic.

I hope both of these people live forever. Probably the two guitarists who’ve had the most impact on me

this might be one of the best interplay the word has ever witnessed

Wow I am astounded at just how in sync the Julian and Bill were the last 30 seconds of this piece. Out of this world.

To be fair, that's simply his style. It's characteristic of his collaborative style. He had the same body language last night at the Schubert with John Medeski and his own trio. And his synergy with his bassist is remarkable.

Talking strictly gear, the Collings guitar I'm sure is exceptional, but the heart of that guitar is the Ellis pickup. It was built around that pickup, for that pickup, because of that pickup, which is one of a kind extraordinary.

Hey check out their john zorn records together if you haven't I can't remember the name of them, zorn albums are often in latin and/or languages i'm not familiar with, but some of those records are gorgeous, cheers!

Phenomenal, both of them are true gems. It's funny. first time I saw Bill in teh late 70s he was the guys with all the effects pedals (looks pretty Spartan now; Julian has the rig at this gig).
