Some tips if you have a horse that "Pulls Back" when tied up.

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

It is so important that a horse know how to tie up safely and feel comfortable. If they have had a bad experience and have successfully pulled away and broke what they were tied up with, then you now have a "Pull Back" horse. This is something that is REALLY hard to get out of them and sometimes you just cannot. You can get them better, by going back to basics and by constantly monitoring their environment to make sure you are setting them up for success.

The horse out weighs you by about 10 times so the drag on the first rope would be about right. Us poor boys tie them to a truck inner tube and walk away for about two hours after each ride, they figure it out. Not near as much fun on a rubber band. Good info from you though.

I’m more concerned about that ornament on the wall you are tying into. Is that just screwed into that cedar panel??? Slightest tug, and that comes out

Good point. We have a tire innertube on a solid post for when we used to take horses in for training and do their tying sessions. If I had a true problem horse I would not use that spot. I was just trying to show how to use the blocker loop and demonstrate how it works by allowing for a slow release that will help the horse to not feel too confined. Thank you for your comment.

You do not tie a horse until he knows how to tie. Think about it.................
