I am surprised and depressed by the fact some people might even have such negative opinions about you and your business. Personally, I can only say I feel lucky to have such a nice shop, teas and team of passionate and knowledgeable people in London. I see them, and the world of tea, as a stand against the current tsunami of stupidity, ignorance and bad taste.

I always enjoy hearing your thoughts and enjoy that there is more then just tea content. The philosophical topics are great to watch on the weekends during a tea session. In the past year I have gotten really into psytrance and have found more people that also worry about where the world is heading. It helps to know that others care and also feel like a big change is needed.

Thank you so much for giving that extensive answering my question! I’m on a surer footing now, understanding what I experience … or not experience, when I drink puerh. Nevertheless - you probably knew I’d say this - I’d still love to have a masterclass on qi and cha qi. I already loved that one on Tea and Taoism a lot. Keep coming back to it, in fact. Interestingly, it’s been that video about gushu sourcing, which you also mention here, that first sparked my interest in the aspects of drinking puerh - or tea drinking in general - that go beyond flavour. I’d really be interested in the list of boxes a Chinese person might want to tick concerning puerh as compared to the list of expectations of a western tea drinker - the overlaps and outliers so to say, - because I expect you know both sides quite well and you have to bring them together when you’re choosing your teas.

Hi Don! How can I find out when one of these Q&A sessions is coming up, and what is the best way to send you a question? Some really thoughtful and interesting answers in this one, my respect for you has only grown! Regarding non-tea topics, perhaps consider starting a second channel or one under your own name. I for one would subscribe, and you'd be free to upload anything you fancy that may otherwise be 'off-brand' for Mei Leaf. I'm sure you're very busy, especially recently, but the second channel platform would lend itself nicely to infrequent uploads primarily consumed by those of us who already devour everything on this channel :)

Hi I am just wondering what your impressions have been of MARIAGE FRERERS tea? Also - do you have preference for glass/ iron / ceramic vessels to drink from? I wonder how you find recycling tea - as in does it break down promptly - can it be dried out again and used for something else? I was thinking of trying to recycle for a fragrant pot pouri?

My parents were just in London a couple weeks ago as tourists. On my recommendation, they visited your tea shop. 39:19 For me the tea experience seems to first call me back to a specific point of my memory. It can also paint a scene, calling on a bunch of different memories. If I don't think about it, or just sit and breath, the memory or newly formed scene comes to me and it can be quite sentimental

About the brand Farah, it's actually an Arabic word but since the English transcription is ambiguous, it's either pronounced "Fa-R'h" or "Faa-Rih" both with a heavy "h" typical of semitic tongues. Either way, it means "happiness" or "the one who makes people happy"!

Yay for another interesting Q&A video! Speaking of politics and philosophy. As an engineer I was fed up with both, but now I can tolerate the first one and I need the second. People ted to get "triggered" or "offended" quite often these days, and the "safe bubbles" that western society creates won't help in the long run. As I see, we can only evolve, be better if we are constantly challenged in every possible sense. Stagnation, echo chambers will not push us further. It was strange hearing that people can't find differences in raw puerh... I'm the same with ripe. For me there are only subtle differences, except when I drink a really old or high quality ripe. And finally a question: Suppose that covid is over, how does one organize a trip to China to learn about tea, taste tea at the source? Are there such groups? I surely would love a one week or two weeks long trip to Xishuangbanna taste the goodness there.

for more streetwear kinda vibes without looking too try-hard, you could try putting a modern twist on workwear. brands like Dickies paired with some nice chunky trainers from Reebok or Fila and a simple top (baggy or fitted, depends on what vibe you want) would be a good shout. figuring out a good pallette is important. this is what a lot of us skaters wear and I'd say it's quite a universal look
