Goku is voiced by Steve Blum in this game, I think he said the recordings were super rushed and there was barely any time to get the lines down properly, and that he doesn't remember much from the whole thing. At least this game has some kick ass music

I remember playing this game as a kid being so confused. Especially since only namek saga was out in the US at the time and the internet was still relatively new I had no idea who any of the characters were. Since there was no story I made up stories about who everyone was or why certain characters had blonde hair and why were grown up.

It is up there lol I played this with my siblings way back in the 90s a lot There wasn't much Dragon Ball video games back then Since we only had PS1 at the time and didn't know English yet A lot of controllers fell victim due to blast battle

I had this game on my hardware modded PS1 when I was a kid. It was fun back then, spamming special moves Vs my older brother, but ofcourse when you're little you care a lot less about how polished a game is.

That Beyblade intro song awoke something in me

Christ I remember playing this game at a nephews house as a kid! It was the Japanese (or even French!) dub to make it even worse. Had no idea why they were screaming like high pitched kids. Always knew there was something off with this game even though it has a soft spot in my heart

Good vid as always. As a kid we watched GT and it aired for us in 2004-2005. We kinda dealt with GT and liked things like SS4, but overall it was the unwanted stepchild in the dragon ball franchise (for us at the time). Final bout was a bad game but we played because of the goofy voices lol. Cheers 🤘🏽

Dragon ball gt Final Bout wasn't too bad

I actually love this game. Lol it’s had not aged much but all the hidden mechanics I wished would find a way back as a side mode. Very interesting English voice cast and some early fun of the only way to play a dragon ball game. And to answer your question from the video, yes I knew about gt, but had not watched it, so I thought vegito was a newer character and not a fusion.

When I heard the opening of this video, I was like.. are we about to get a Beyblade retrospective from Hidden?!

Watching your DBZ videos started a Domino that ended with me playing the demo of DBZ Kakarot and now I'm curious if you've played that game and what you think of it

Dragon ball Grand Tour, the unholy dead beaten horse of akira's creation. I used to think I liked it and then when super came out I realized I was simply tolerating it as the only continuing story of dragon ball. It is trash, golden great apes and all. And this game is trash as well. A well done video as always.

The only thing good here is the opening video and song

The best and actually good DBGT game is Transformation for the GBA, pretty damn great timeless classic, you should really play and review that one someday.

Lol I will forever love this game. I didn’t get a PS2 until January of 2006. I had to rock with my PS1 that had broken audio. My friend in the 5th grade got this game from the DBZ Beckett magazines. He had all the new games of that time (2005) so giving me this game was charity on his part. By that time GT was already airing from 2004 and would come to an end summer 2005 I think. I would get the rare opportunity to play a budokai or tenkaichi game courtesy of a game night at my church then come home to this and Ultimate battle ‘22. Nostalgic affection aside, yeah, it was pretty well…disappointing .. but I made the most of it for some time, I’m forever grateful for its existence.

Props to sticking to your opinion xD laughed at the "you shouldn't let those ppl in your house" lolz Much like those that love DB Sagas!

The game can get rather difficult especially on build up mode and spamming triangle on beam clashes against the cpu on hard was rather difficult sometimes. I still have this game and play it with my buddies from time to time for kicks

1:18 GT premiered in America in 2004. Z ended in April 2003 in America.

I liked it. It was not a good game, but as a DB Game starved US fan it was all we had for a while. Fun could be had here. The mechanics were not great but there was a method to the madness. GT base Goku and Vegeta were the best characters. They had more interesting combo moves and they each had an extra special, Goku could do a spirit bomb, and Vegeta could do final explosion. My pro action replay (cheat device) did something weird and unlocked a whole other page in build up mode filled with even stronger characters. I made a ridiculously powerful Vegeta but the way it works is the more you use a move the stronger it gets. So ironically Vegeta's basic punch became his strongest attack. And yes the music was quite good. There was an instrumental version of the trunks theme will power of light. SS4 Goku had a cool them "hero of heroes" I also liked Piccolo's, Gohan's and Vegeta's music a lot. Ultimately I sold the game on ebay as the US version was quite rare, I believe there was only 60,000 copies of the US version and I got $250 for it. Years later there was a reissue, but the original version is still worth something. I don't recommend playing this game now, though you may enjoy listening to the soundtrack on youtube, there are much MUCH better dragon ball games to play.

The best thing about gt is Super Saiyan 4, Baby, and syn shenron. Those are the only redeeming qualities Also at 5:38 did gohan have a stroke or something? Thats not how humans walk 🚶

Ironically, I think that's the only part of GT anyone liked 'cause it followed up on Z instead of trying to be a weird rehash of OG Dragon Ball. But you have to admit, at least GT tried to build its Universe instead of the weird way Super tries to explain the existence of 11 other Universes.

Ok listen i was apart of the ladder group but let me explain...... It came to us at a time where we had NO IDEA who Buu, Majin Vegeta, SSJ4 , i dont even think we knew who trunks as at the time. It was like some esoteric game that i felt we never should of played. Like look at that Intro, Anyone who's seen the Tribute to Gohan AMV knows how sick that Intro is. I know if you go back to the game you'd realize the gameplay was made on a Engine ran with Hamsters running on a Wheel, but it's Nostalgic non the less LOL. I hope i defended us Final Bout lovers properly. Great video!

I remember renting this from blockbuster as a kid and not understanding what I was seeing or playing. Also thought Goku was in an alternate color outfit like when you press a different button in street fighter. Didn’t know what GT was. Same feeling as when I had a Tapion toy back in like ‘96 as a kid and thought it was a trunks transformation cause he had a sword.

My brother used to go on this website in 98/99 that used to have a gallery of DBZ/GT pics he used to pint off. We knew that GT was the successor to DBZ but had never seen an ep or have idea of the premise. We were so confused when we got this game in 99 like who tf are some of these characters XD

That's actually the correct spelling for Boo. I knew about GT back in the late '90s thanks to the internet. It was at that time, we started seeing weird fan-art of SSJ5 and stuff like that and we'd think it was all GT.

I remember it stood for Grand Tour. I hadn't seen the anime, but Dragon ball Z hadn't even been finished when I played it. I remember thinking it was cool. Battle 22 was, ehh, to me. It had some charm, but it's not worth tracking down to play the game. I had to augment my playstation to play the Japanese versions of each game.

But to be fair, i am glad they used Vegetto instead of Vegito, because for me this is the only correct version since its fused Vegeta and Kakarotto.

I enjoy DBGT: Final Bout alot When I was kid, but dont get me wrong the only reason I like it was because back then it was like the only 3d DB game u could get. I cant play final bout now, becuase the game age like milk ,looks terrible and plays terrible (although i still like mgs 1 and tek3). I but that opening intro is still straight fire.

By the way I had the japanese version of the game. The eng version didnt exist when I bought it. Remember as kid, thinking why does Goku sound like girl (dont mean to offend any fans of sub but that wat everyone thinks when they hear db in sub for the first time).

I remember my older brother playing this on his PS1, I was too young to fully grasp "imports" but i understood we somehow had a physical disc game from another country. I want to say, as best as I can remember, when we had this game in our house in America, DBZ had only aired up to the Namekian saga or early Android saga. I understand most of the things i saw in the intro like Adult Gohan or "that pink thing" that i found out years later was Buu.

When I’m one of the people who are GT fans (especially the JP Dub), but yeah, Final Bout absolutely stinks.

One of the first dragon ball games I picked up, I didn’t know how to play for shit but I loved it

What most people ignoring from which series of games UB22 and FB originated. They are the last games of the classic Butouden game series, so they playing just like the SNES Games. The Problem is more that UB22 and FB are just 3D Upgrades without too many improvements. For myself i like both games and would them rate way higher than trash like Taiketsu or the DBZ Card Game on GBA. But the games got burned in the west because they had early-mid 90s fighting gameplay style (and it was already outdated on release of the playstation) but came out in europe and america in the early 2000s, way to long after the japanese release. We had way better comparisons like Tekken 3 and Super Smash Bros in 2002. @Hidden you should review the entire Butouden Series from the ground up, maybe it changes your perspective on these games. (Super Butouden 1-3, Buyu Retsuden, Ultimate Battle 22, Shin Butouden, Hyper Dimension, Final Bout, Ultimate Butouden, Extreme Butouden, FighterZ)

at the time final bout was actually good, i had a chipped ps1 so some games would be black and white , i didnt know about GT yet so didnt know everyone but of course when budokai 1 blew everything out the water

Back in the day this was the shit we didn't had much else, and yes it looks silly and horrible now i'm not gonna defend that. But we wouldn't be standing here today in terms of evolution in DBZ fighting games.

I think Boo is technically an alternate spelling. Goes with Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo from Cinderella

I played the game in 1999 and had no idea what GT was, or who Majin Buu, Cell, Trunks, super baby etc were. On Toonami the series had only gone up to Goku landing on Namek...... so all these other characters were unknown to us.

I would actuall says that Final Bout is a Butouden spiritual successor from the SNES games into the PS1, which is not odd, just different. it works if you think like that.

The only good Dragon ball Gt game is Dragon Ball gt transformation

1st dragonball game I owned and it was a copy disk on my chipped PS1

How is this considered to be the worst DB game created when it is compared with Ultimate Battle 22? Have those people even played Ultimate Battle 22?

This game was my introduction to GT which at the time never seeing the cartoon, I expected it to be the greatest thing ever post DBZ. By introduction I mean I seen it a lot in magazines, ads, online etc I never actually played it. I just knew due the game GT existed and found out about things like Super saiyan 4. The game looked pretty terrible as a kid when blocky graphics blew my mind in the later half of the 90s. It just looked so slow compared to other fighting games of the 90s that were often well paced or fast paced games. If I do ever play the game it would be just because I can say I played it. I'm not surprised it's as bad as it looks

Everything relatied to DBGT sucks indeed.... Except that amazing animated intro for Final Bout. It has always been one of my favorite DB game intros. It's just *so* well drawn, and was before they started to draw them to make them look super shiny and like plastic following Yamamuro's..... artistic change following the Buu arc.

The American re-release debut in-store several years after it's original release elsewhere. Whomever in America played this game BEFORE the re-release, had a Japanese import. Myself included. In fact, you had to wedge a piece of cardboard in between the disk cover to be able to even play the game, because the region-locked disk wouldn't run on American systems without it propped open. And this was before the internet became what it is today, so we had to figure it out mainly through trial, error, and word of mouth Good times.

For me Final Bout is both a "Nostalgic game from my childhood" and one of the worst DB games ever. These things are not mutually exclusive. This was during the era where DBZ was on syndication, before it was on Cartoon Network and long before the Budokai games came out. If you wanted to play a Dragon Ball game back in the day, this and Dragon Power for the NES were you're only options. It was a very dark time
