Some of Pennsylvania's Lost Speedways

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A day-long adventure through the area of PA known as the 'Coal Region' led myself and my friend Tre to 5 locations that at one point hosted motorsport competition. This video encompasses light historic information and the small amounts of footage we were capable of getting without breaking any laws.
CONTENTS:
0:23 - O'Hara Anthracite Speedway
1:08 - Ringtown Speedway
1:53 - Sparky's Speedway
3:14 - Little Diamond Speedway
4:53 - Gold Mine Speedway
7:45 - Conclusion
8:55 - Bloopers
I do not own the HIGH majority of this video's contents. The goal is simply to compile information and preserve the memories of these tracks. If any respective owners of any of the pictures, land, or information I compiled in this video have an issue with it being included do not hesitate to reach out. I'm not here to antagonize anyone.

The origins of NASCAR began in Pennsylvania. The owner of the Pennsylvania "Seven" as they were known went to Daytona and discussed his rules with Bill France, Sr. and what became NASCAR was birthed by the rules used in Pennsylvania.

Went to Gold Mine when I was a kid in the 1960s. Sunday afternoon racing, you always came home covered in dust.

Video idea- can you go to Anthracite Speedway in Schoentown, by Port Carbon? There isn’t much left but there is still some banking and trail.

I would have liked to, I wanted to include it in this video but the land's owner is well-known for not allowing people on his property and will have you arrested for trespassing if you try to get on his land. If I were able to convince him to let me in, I would absolutely love to, there's a lot of remnants of it left over.

Will this be a series? Personally, I would love to see it expand to all of Pennsylvania.

I would love to make a series out of it, I think time is something I would need more of to keep expanding it but I plan on continuing to do so. Do you prefer the small introductions or would you want individual videos for the different race tracks?

@@joedonohue947 After some thought, I realized you might need a production team to make a video of each track. Best to keep it smaller, I think.

It would be really cool if you could somehow get some videos or photos of the cars and drives from back in the day from each track you were at .
