best line in a 80's movie 'You look good wearing my future' love love this movie second favorite to breakfast club which really defined the 80's sentiment in my opinion..

Right on! Breakfast Club is my favorite!

That is one of the lines I loved from this movie too.
I was working at the LA County Museum of Art when they filmed the scenes inside. This was August of 1986. The film shows a different museum on the outside, maybe the Getty. The scenes were filmed in the Ahmanson building which has been demolished. Where Duncan greets them was the employee entrance which at the time was off of Ogden Dr.
I loved how Watts semi whispered to Amanda. “. Break his heart I’ll break your face “
I love you, man. Let me explain why. I was born in 1971 in Lancashire, England, so I was a teenager of the 80s and part of the vhs generation. This movie will ALWAYS be my favourite. Because of this movie and The Breakfast Club, I spent my teenage years in England wishing I lived in America and went to high school there. I'm 53 this year, and one day, I WILL visit America. Not to visit clichéd tourist places but to spend time at these places. Thank you so much for filming and uploading this. You've made a man from Manchester, the home of The Smiths insanely happy. I'm forever grateful KZread exists.
I always had a huge crush on Mary Stuart Masterson & she was in three straight great films - Heaven Help Us - At Close Range & Some Kind Of Wonderful. Brilliant actress.

Someone once said that I reminded them of her. I'm not sure why, but I took it as a huge compliment.

She was very cute. She had that short blond hair going much like Chynna Phillips.

But what happened to her career? Nothing as an adult. Like Ally Sheedy

Out of curiosity I looked both her and Ally Sheedy up on IMDb and they both have been working until this day--just not high profile things. That happens with a lot of women as they age sadly.
One of my all time favorite movies. The KISS, as I like to think of it, was, well you could cut the tension in the air with a knife. It makes me smile every time. Love the actors and it's just a great feel good movie. Kind of like The Breakfast Club. Another great one.
After watching this last night just before getting off from work, I went straight home and watched this movie for the eleventeenth time. I regret nothing.
One of the best movie endings!
Ohhh man thanks for this!! I remember being a kid and renting this movie all the time! “All I care about is me, my drumsticks, and JTL vlogs!”
The 80's were especially unique for classic teenage films.
Thanks Jordan for making this video, I love it. Some Kind of Wonderful is one of my favorite movies! I always had a big crush on Eric Stoltz! Yes I also loved the scene where Keith and Duncan are "sketching" in detention, one of my favorite scenes along with Keith and Watts at the garage...
Loved this film when it came out! great soundtrack especially the March Violets version of "Miss Amanda Jones". Killer cast especially Mary Masterson! Long live the 80's!! Thanks Jordan for another cool vlog!
This movie is definitely one of my favorite 80s movies. We grew up with sooooo many great films in that decade!! Loved the video... thank you!
One of my top five all time favorite films and John Hughes never got the credit he should have for not just a great story, but one of the best soundtracks of any movie EVER!!!
80s movies were the best!
It's cool that the original railing accompanying the front door steps still remains.
My favorite movie from the 80’s. I own it as a double set with Pretty in Pink. It is a classic seen it many times since I was a 11 years old. Love it.
Thanks, Jordan for the wonderful memories! My fav movie. The soundtrack, movie lines, humour..everything! Top-notch film/video editing 🏆(Ireland)☘
One of my favorite lines “it’s 1987, did you know a woman can be what she wants to be?” “Yeah my moms a Plummer”
Yes I agree, the house needs a bit more than just TLC, new fence to start with or no fence. It did look better in the movie. Thanks Jordan interesting as always
It's was nice taking a trip down memory lane with a revisit to the shooting locales for 1 of my favorite Hughes movies. I had a serious crush on Mary Stuart Masterson & as a result of seeing her in this, I watched several more of her performances! Thanks for sharing...
I just looked up the price for the house that's on sale. Only 11.8 million. What a steal...

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Jordan! Thanks for another awesome video... love this movie... love you 🍀🤗✌️👍
Thank you for doing these film locations, Jordan!! This is my wife's favorite movie. I have seen it many times.
That is down the street across from anahiem st on Frigate ave, My Grandmother lived on that street. When I saw this movie I reconigned everything
I cant really forget that movie. I watched it twice coz I fell in love with the story.
Love watching you, you are always so positive and upbeat. Fairly new subbie here🤗. Happy Saint Patty's Day,,,,Be well🔥💚
I have been waiting for the Vlog from you for a long time!! It means so much to me that you did this!! As I mentioned to you in a live stream, I went to San Pedro High from 1982-1984. And we moved away to Aberdeen and I did not want to leave my town or my school. I was so happy when that movie came out and blown away because the school I had missed so much was in the film. Back then there were no gates and yes people parked their cars dianally on that one little street. The inside of the school was so cool I just love old school buildings! Thank you Jordanaire!! I appreciate YOU!!

I was there from fall 85-spring 88. Loved that school.
best line ever "the only things I care about in this goddamn life are me and my drums and you"
I WAS A SENIOR AT SAN PEDRO HIGH SCHOOL IN 1986, I AUDITIONED TO BE AN EXTRA IN THE MOVIE FOR THE SCHOOL SCENES, THEY HAD AUDITIONS FOR STUDENTS TO BE EXTRAS, I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM, BUT I DID SEE THEM FILMING AT THE SCHOOL RIGHT AFTER SCHOOL GOT OUT FOR SUMMER.
Another John Hughes Movie! My Dad was named John Hughes! LOL 😂 We lived in CA for five years! Then move back to MO. When I was a teenager ... I’d tease Mom that Howard Hughes was ... Uncle Howie! 😂
Keith’s house needs some TLC in 2021. Looked better in the movie. Nice vlog Jordan. Take care!
Such a fun movie! Loved that you shared these cool locations with us. Thanks for giving us a little taste of the 80s, Jordan.
Never saw this movie but now I have to, thanks Jordan!

You’ll love it!
Was this movie in 1987? Keith Nelson was so cute. I love the line when Mary Stuart Masterson finally gets the earrings she wanted and says your stupid I always new you were stupid and also gets Keith as a boyfriend. I have this movie on video. I was a kid back when this movie was released. Candace Cameron Burea was in this movie when she was a kid. She now stars in the Hallmark channel movies. 1468? You really done a good job with scoping out where the movie was filmed. Thank you for sharing. So much nostalgia. Was Chynna Phillip's from Wilson Phillip's in this movie as an extra she now has a KZread Channel now called California preaching. Check it out. in this movie as an extra in the scene at the party where Keith was at the house with Amanda Jones Hardy's house. Have a blessed day.

About 2 weeks ago it came out on Blu Ray for the first time. It's in a John Hughes collection with 4 other movies and has bonus material!
What a fun movie tour! Now I need to watch that movie again.
Also curious how the film has several references with the Rolling Stones. Amanda Jones is a song by the band (which is even part of the soundtrack) and the name of the protagonists, Keith and Watts, is a tribute to the members. It's no accident that Watts is a drummer. RIP Charlie… Thanks for this video ! I’ve watched this movie about a thousand times.
Remember seeing this film when it first came out - this Vlog brought back so many memories of that time. Many Thanks Jordan.
This is one of my favorite movies. Still watch it a lot !!
This is cool. I love 80’s movies.
I LOVE this movie! So glad I found your video. It's one of those films that never gets old and I like it so much better then Pretty in Pink. It was cool to see some of the locations since I live in NY. I've been to LA many times, but it's so spread out.
I went to high school here in 1966. I don't remember any gates, fences, and railings. Before I got my car, I walked to school. I recall overlooking the bluff and ocean. There was a wrecked ship up on the beach close to the rock bluff. The beach was not for walking on or sunbathing. It was rugged.
Same Kind Of Wonderful is one of my favorites movies ever made.
I love your film location vlogs! I watched a show that left me creeped out and can’t sleep so I was doubly happy to have this to watch. Haven’t seen this movie in a long time. Now I want to watch it again. Great job, Jordan!
This is one of my favorite movies. Great job covering it!!
I love this movie! It's so underrated!
Great vlog, Jordan! This is one of my favorite 80's films! 💙
Man I love this movie. Thanks Jordan for showing us the filming locations!
I was always very fond of this film! Thanks for sharing the locations.
I like how hardy said @ the end,....” you look good wearing my future!”.........( cue music!),..........😎👍 This is a classic!!!! 🤓👍👋🇨🇦🌟
Thanks for taking us on another great tour of where Some Kind of Wonderful was filmed. You do so much research before you share with us thank you
YESS! One of my all time favorites! Fantastic vlog, Jordan!
I was a junior at San Pedro high in 1987. I remember the summer they filmed this. My wife (girlfriend at the time) was an extra in this movie. She was one of those girls in the background when hardy and Amanda were kissing in the corvette. Back then there were no gates locking the school. It didn’t change much over the years until recently when they started a total remodel.

I should say the gates on north side weren’t there. The fence on the south side were always there. When that school was first built, in order to essentially take up three blocks they had to keep the center open to foot traffic for the public so if they were walking down alma they didn’t have to walk all the way around the school. Now of course with security it’s different. I miss the 80s.
Thank you John Hughes for all your good work!
I love that there were so many locations still here. What a great movie. What a fun romp of a video. Thank you Jordan. Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
Nice looking houses. Thank you for all the work you did on this one. Stay safe, take care and God bless.
One of my all time faves. Thanks for doing this 👍🏼
You made my day Jordan! Just watched the movie again last night and then I stumbled upon this vlog. You did an awesome job!
This was one of my favorites! Thanks for doing it. 👍
💋Great movie of the 80’s! John Hughes always got it right! Continued Blessings and Support. ~Love&Light💖C.
We love this movie 🎥 We just watched it the other night. Such a fun Vlog today 🥰🍿
I made a mental note to check out this movie after watching this vlog. Took me a little while to get around to watching it, but when I did I loved it. Total 80's feel good movie. Thanks, Jordan.
Hi Jordan, I have never seen the film but will look out for it. Nice that the locations have survived. Great vlog Jordan.
I do enjoy this movie those movie sites haven't changed much. Lea Thompson was really good. I read on the internet recently that she basically begged for that role, because her previous movie Howard the Duck had just come out and completely bombed, so she didn't risk missing out on a more dramatic role. John Ashton played Eric Stoltz' s father in that movie. I will always remember him as Police Officer Taggart in the Beverly Hills Cop movies, love him in those.
Really cool vlog Jordan and one of my favorite movies.
John hughes will always have a special place in my heart❤❤ ive never seen this one now i have to☺
Have not watched it in years. It is such a good movie. I am about to watch it now. Thanks Jordan !!!
That was a lot of match-ups Thanks for your hard work Jordan

Thai is legitimately one of my fav 80s flicks. How cool to see these locations. I loved Mary Stewart in this
I’m just an old lady that watches from a fire tv and doesn’t get to comment much, but I wanted to say, I love the music you open your videos with. I’m from So. Cali, and spent lots of time in the old Hollywood clubs in the 80’s. I’d have stories if I could remember! I enjoy your videos very much, great job.
Wonderful 🎥Thanks for the flashback❣️
One of my all time favorite movies from the 80’s!
Such an awesome movie... and GREAT tour of the locations, Jordan!! Hugs, from Mesa, AZ 🌵

Being an 80s kid, I don’t know how I missed this movie. If it wasn’t for your vlog on this film, I’d have missed it. Thanks! It was a great movie! The acting is was top notch for an 80s flick. Hey, Is it too late to have a childhood crush on Mary Stuart Masterson? 😆
Thanks for doing this - my second most favorite movie ever!
That's a shame that first little house with the picket fence is in such poor condition

Watched this again very good. I love your videos Jordan especially on old Hollywood. Some of the stories I know, but many I don’t. I did not know anything about the tunnels under the City Hall in LA for example. Interesting

Greetings from Portugal. This movie was one of my favourites in the 80s. Maybe one day I can go to the States in vacations and do some film locations too.
I have watched a lot of 80s movies, but I don't remember seeing this one. If I have seen it, I don't remember. I still enjoyed the vlog, and maybe I will run a cross this movie, and get to see it one day. Jordan you still made it very interesting. Thanks for all the leg work that it took to make this vlog! Awesome as always!
