I think one of the reasons fans hate Endeavor so much is that abusive parents are easier for many to relate to in reality. On top of relating to a celebrity who does terrible things behind closed doors but once found out doesn't face true legal consequences due to their famous. Like there are characters who do more harm on a bigger scale than endeavor doing things like mass murder but end up getting redemption arcs that people are fine with or get more sympathetic from a fanbase. More fans probably are more sympathetic towards toya/Dabi than Endeavor. In plenty are rooting for Dabi over Endeavor.

I'm not surprised why people don't like him or even hate him. He and Rei created a slightly pathological family and the fact that he regrets it now won't change anything because Dabi's life is ruined and his siblings still have some traumas

I think that the funny thing is endeavor isn't looking forgiveness he is looking for atonement and I think that It drives some people nuts.

ENDEAVOR IS NOT A GOAT. Endeavor marries a woman, not because he loves her but because she has a stylish quirk. Beyond being a shitty husband, not only does he string the kids along, until he has Shoto that he will train like a pig, to the point of making his son and his wife completely crazy.His son hates him and is very afraid of him and his wife has gone crazy. And when she sees Shoto, she sees Endeavor in him, resulting in the kettle scene. No no, Endeavor, clearly, despite his repentance, it's not because you have half a face burned that it will make up for it. Just because someone says “sorry” doesn’t mean it’s going to work. Imagine, your child gets attacked by someone, but that person is a great doctor who saves lives. And this same person comes back 10 years later, once your child is better psychologically and just says “sorry”. Are you going to forgive him? I don't and that's the case for Endeavor. I don't forgive him. I appreciate the writing of this character but do I accept him? No. To me Endeavor is a shitty father. And bringing his face back and apologizing once he became number 1, got his face burned in a fight, and his son finally accepted his power is a little too easy.

Endeavor is the best written character of My Hero.

Endeavour only „changed“ when he finally got what he always wanted: being the nr. 1 hero. After he accomplished this dream that he had since a long time, he suddenly cares for his family which makes his „change“ again so egoistical. Would he also „changed“ when All Might would not be retired and still the nr. 1 hero instead of him? I don‘t think so.

@@skullknight4579 Endeavor realized a lot of things after his discussion with all might after that he tried to mend the ties with shoto and become a better person with his family and his entourage afterwards after his fight against the nomu and the natsuo's arc he asked his children for forgiveness and he moves further to give them freedom and time he continues to send flowers to his wife, all the time he was only looking for forgiveness he has huge regrets even more since he knows that toya is dabi but despite this he continues to fight to atone for his sins and to be a better person and a better father he has the right to forgiveness

That is comepletely incorrect. For starters he never achieved his "dream" as his dream was to surpass all might. his change started when he swallowed his pride and asked all might on what it means to be the number 1 hero and he told him that he couldn't give him that answer. Which led him to reflect inward.

Despite my anger towards him i actually dont hate endever how ever that does not mean i like him ether i respect his desire to change for the better but he really traumatized his own family there is no way him regretting it is going to fix what he did so i cant fault anyone for hating him.

Tbh, it's videos like this that take me back to the time that I actually liked Enji's character. his arc started off so good. Unfortunately, while the rest of the series continued to be great for me, his arc took such a huge nosedive. I went from being indifferent to his character, to loving his character, to his character being my least favorite. It's so bizarre.

In my opinion it's mainly because in the manga everything is much more darker obviously, y see blood gore and genuine stakes r much higher even if studios say it's not meant to matter. This episode was done very faithfully (I'd argue most) to the manga and seeing that made people who were anime onlys a bit uncomfortable (for obvious reasons), but y have to understand the manga has that darker tone for many places , the anime even changed how shigarakis quirk works. For people who only saw anime seeing something Soo dark come out of nowhere prolly had a larger impact then the manga which y could argue could be good, but then y can also argue it's pretty bad cause it plays around with the original stories development of the character.

Well domestic abuse and what is basically domestic r”pe (Rei stated she did not agree with wanting more children and that’s what all those chilling looks meant) are not harmless crimes. So the fan base is correct in all of their reactions, which is reflected in the reactions of the Todoroki family and bystanders as well. Some can forgive and see the new Endevour more than the old and some see it more like Natsuo and cannot overlook the trauma of the past. However there is no other choice as to rely on Endevour in hero society, so the questions of redemption and a possible new family life have to wait until society is stabilised again.

@@toycarsushiwriter3573 I never justified Endeavor's actions. I was debunking the argument that Endeavor utilized coerced or forced to birth kids which isn't true if you understand the context. Rei had asked for more kids Rei had wanted the funds from Endeavor and agreed on birthing the half-and-half if Endeavor had given her financial support to her household.

Don't get why this is such a huge problem it's simple really you can forgive him or not you're not wrong in either situation and my hero isn't trying to make you feel a certain way or pointing the finger saying "you should feel this way because" this is a situation where both sides are completely valid in their feelings

It's ok to hate a character for whatever reason you want but there are people saying that the show is trying to make you like Endeavor and that the family cheering him up like they are forgiving him or something and that's not true; first, the family is telling him that they all could have done something to avoid this situation and now they must all stop Dabi because he is their family; and second if you see a man trying to make amends for his past mistakes and you feel for him that is not the show "making" you like him, the show is just telling you the history, you decide to like him by yourself.

And some fans really cut him slack or even appreciate /love him

and the same guys that hate him probably loves seeing Shigakari and Dabi wreaking havoc and murdering innocent people lmao

He’s unforgivable and should accept what’s coming to him.

I love how endevour is a very complex character, you can hate him and love him in equal measure and yes the things he did are honestly forgivable however he did tell Touya to stop himself from burning into oblivion and he didn't listen which pissed endevour off greatly. And while yes you can saw what he did to his wife was bad His wife did not make things better by fueling the literal flames in Dabi's already burning heart and making him hate the family they made even more. Soo while I get that people are sympathetic toward dabi you can't ignore the fact that if dabi wins HE WONT JUST STOP AT ENJI...he will literally kill Endevour, Shoto, Fuyumi, Natsu and rei. literally anything and anyone that is related in any shape or form to endevour which also involve his own mother. He is literally going to go on a murder spree that won't just stop at endevour. Not to forget the body count this psychopath already has.. There is a chance that they might save Touya at the end but it will literally be a miracle if he doesn't die at the end.

I mean have you seen endeavor he’s not technically a great father given his actions so I understand why people don’t like him however I maintained recently he’s been trying to redeem himself especially with his family as of late but that’s just my opinion.

As a manga reader, I got Endeavor tattooed last saturday. He is my favorite character.

I just gotta say that the people who hate Enji for the abuse against his family are the same people who have a crush on Bakugo who need I remind you; bullied, and beat up Izuku for most of their childhood telling to kill himself in the first episode. This bullying clearly gave him self-esteem issues. Now don't get me wrong. The shit Endeavour did was fucked up but some of y'all are hypocrites.

You can t be comparing action of bullying in middle school to a 20+ sth man beating his wife and mentally abusing his kids? Yes Bakugou was a shit kid, Enji was a shit adult...there is a GOOD reason why if you commit a crime as a kid you wont be prosecuted, but if you do it as a adult you will. As a kid you bilogically CANNOT fully comperehend the consequences of your actions, as an adult nothing stand in your way to fully understand the consequences of your actions.

I enver seen anyone actually say Toga is innocent, they just root for her coz they dont want her dead, coz they want her involved in the story. Like for me I fully adoore Dabi, but do I think he is a good person? No, he is truly beyond help and I think he will need ot be inevitably killed/locked away. Do I want him tho to keep being part of the story and as a result root for him to live as long as possible? yes.

I hate him, too. Endeavor was an asshole of a father and husband of the todoroki family. He coerced shoto to do a lot of training to become better than all might against his will. Neglected his other kids, including Toya and worst of all, he beats his wife! I hate this man so fucking much!! And this is NOT what pro heroes do, ever! He should rot in hell for what he did! Am i right?😡

I d not say he is the most hated...he is just controversial. I think most people can agree that he is extremely well written and truly worked on becoming a better person. However, he is undoubtedly a triggering personality for anyone and everyone who got abused by their parents or their spouse. its a complex topic and I dont think anyone but the victim can decide if they are willing to forgive...and since everyone processes trauma differently ofc there will be people who are willing to forgive characters like Enji and those who wont be willing nor able to.

I actually never hated Endeavor. I always felt like Shoto never had the whole story ...you know, because he is clearly on the spectrum, and doesn't understand subtly, or social norm, interactions , he can not read between the lines. So with that said I never truly believed Shoto, because how could he know all the details of his parents and since he was isolated, from his siblings, he truly didn't have a whole objective picture. With that being said: I have to ask...why didn't they just get support items for Toya....Rei is an idiot ! What kind of mother allows her 13 year old son,talk to her like that? Why didn't she put him in his place, her arranged marriage doesn't matter, she's still his mother and if she was more assertive and an actual mother this wouldn't have happened. Endeavor is working! She had one job, and she couldn't do it. I don't blame Endeavor, I blame Rei. So I guess I'm an awful person.

Unfortunately because Dabi is a villain now he needs to face the consequences of his actions. He could have been saved as a child and had his life turned around, but sadly he is way past that point now.
