Sometimes i wish there was an international puzzle's code where on the box would say "yeah, this is a B" standing for brutality, so you know you can go at it with a hammer and chisel, because when you solve these one after another (even months apart) you risk actually damaging one because the last was sturdier. When you're colour blind so you have no idea what's going on. XD
@justaregulartoaster
5 жыл бұрын
Then you see different tones of gray. So it might still work. There are different types of colorblindness. Being completely unable to see any color is actually quite rare among non-blind people. The most common colorblindness is the one where red and green look the same to you. There are also types where two or more colors are swapped. But the main two types are "colors turning into different tones of gray" and "colors looking identical". Yes, you've been told about colorblindness by a toaster.

CHRIS I THE CEO OF " I don't want to break it "and " I think I broke it "
So the way this works is each of those crayons works like a key pin in a pin tumbler lock. they all have a different height and you have to align the heights so that the driver pins underneath create a slot so you can move the latch to the side and then press the box through. Theoretically this also means that the puzzle could be "picked" by holding tension on the latch and trying different crayons until the latch opens
@EduardoWeidmanBarijan
5 жыл бұрын
I noticed the different heights too and I was like "Why Chris is not mentioning they have different heights?"

Depending on the design of the slide, he could have messed with the tension on the first until it slipped, then done the same with all four. I suppose it's also possible that all four tumblers need to be aligned at the same time for the slide to move.

Hey Chris - This was a good one. I enjoyed this Japanese puzzle far more than some of the other, super-simplistic (and expensive) puzzles from Japan. It's interesting to note, that as I have become more of a fan of your puzzle-solving videos, I've noticed an increase in my logical-thinking ability. Even though I haven't tried to do any puzzles yet, I find that I can use this somewhat heightened sense of "thinking-out-of-the-box" approach to everyday conundrums to my definite advantage. In addition, the setting and calming music in your videos also inspires me to approach potentially irritating issues in a more peaceful and systematic manner. Anyway, thanks for all that...

I start watching your videos today and I love that content! That puzzle is like ancient lock (colours) and key (crayons). Easy if you see it that way, but yes, mind blowing for the first time
"How does it work?" It explains it at the beginning! Its a tumbler lock puzzle, and the crayons are the key... As in the different lengths of the crayons act as the teeth of a key. Sliding it open allowed you to move them around as needed. then when they were in order, you close it to activate the tumblers. The sliding piece was the locking mechanism preventing it from sliding all the way through.

It's like a puzzle in a Resident Evil game. I expected it to pop open and reveal a cog which you needed to fix some sort of ornate clock
Belive me I was watching your vids waiting for you to upload a vid

I like the chill vibes in all your vids keep up the great work m8
I love these videos... they tickle me in that special child like place that loves toys, but triggers my 'adult' problem-solving skills, pattern noticing, and appreciation for craftsmanship and engineering. You stumbled on a killer vlog idea. Your brain must be more in shape than the most premium lumosity member.
7:35 like a steve from minecraft when he gets damaged 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️
These things cost up to 600$ Him : I think I broke it
It's essentially a lock, with the crayons being the key. Pretty cool!
@chrisramsay it works like a standard lock with different pins that when pushed down to the correct depth, allow the cylinder (or in this case, the slide) to move
