P0700 is just a general indicator of a transmission fault. It's letting you know to check the transmission control module for fault codes. That's where the specific transmission fault code will be stored.

Next time on your secondary waveform capture.. Move your trigger up higher where it will only lock onto that voltage spike-- and that will stabilize your signal center screen, rather than flashing it all over the place. You had the trigger on the 0v line.. so it was locking on to any little noise on the wire, rather than only the main signal. The trigger is that blue dot on your screen.

A Smart tach TA500 checks scope readings on single cylinders. Ebay has it.

Awesome video. What brand scope are you using to check the voltage wave form? Thanks.

Its just the autel MP408. Seems to work great for my needs. It is actually made by hantek.

On my diesel.. When my starter was doing that-- There were two long bolts that go all the way down the starter and hold it together and one of them was broken. So the starter would try to fall apart and expand and get in a bind every time I tried to start it. I just decided to get a new starter with the faster gear ratio and it was much easier to start after that anyway........... But this sounds very similar-- could use some TLC on that starter. It could just be that the mounting bolts are loose and the starter is falling out and binding up.

I actually looked briefly at the started and engaged it by jumping the control wire and it works fine that way so I am thinking the TIPM which is where the relay is at it probably faulty.

@@737mechanic right.. it's not uncommon. I've seen Ivan at 'pine hollow auto diag" just add an external relay and tie it in.. rather than buying an expensive TIPM. It's commonly done on the fuel pump relay too.. because it likes to die also; and it's in the TIPM also, usually.

@@calholli Yes the TIPM can cause all kinds of issues on Chrysler products.

A 2006 with a throttle cable? Shouldn't that be drive by wire in 2006?

Actually, you do because the air comes back up and blows dirt and other contaminates out. That is how you get stuff out of a cylinder that is contaminated.
