You can use the screws from the legs as the longer screw

Finally managed to mount my new 65" TCL. I called TCL and according to their rep there are no spacers or extenders needed to wall mount this ROFL. I initally bought a full-motion mount from Harbor Freight before I realized we have 24" studs. Got a better mount from Echogear but their included M8 spacers were way too fat to fit in the recessed holes. I had to "borrow" the thinner 22mm spacers from the HF kit. Also the bottom holes have substantially different depth than the top ones, 25 mm bolts would have worked but none included. I used 2 5 mm spacers outside the bracket to get the 35mm bolts tight.

TCL's guidance seems terrible. Having similar issues with a Sanus full motion mount and my new TCL 65R635. I called Sanus and they seemed very confident in advising use of spacers for that model, so I am trusting them.

Thank you very much for your video. It literally saves me hours of phone call to TCL, tears, fear and frustration.

I called TCL about this earlier today as I was having the exact same issue and they said the VESA adapter screws are optional. You can use them if you want the tv to have some tilt. They claimed it was ok that the bracket was not flush against the tv

Someone in the comments below mentioned that they were told the same thing, but ended up using spacers despite the rep's advice.

I don't believe for a minute that it's ok to mount that with the bracket crooked. The backs of the screw heads will not contact the bracket evenly and I would not feel confident that the screws would remain tight. Too much weight and $$$ to trsut the advice of some kid who sounded like a teenager and didn't speak English all that well.

are there the same back panel on all tcl tvs , according to reseller website the backpanel on 40 inch tcl tv does not bend up.

Where did you get space and longer screws. My mount did not come with.

is this the TCL 50S425 50 inch??

can you show me the screw and the name and how long and thick it is. I have a chief wallmount but the screws are very big and thick while the screws on the tcl are very small. Do you think these screws can lift the weigh of the tv. The one before was a plasma so it weighed much more then tlc which ways around 11-12kg.

What model number is this tv?

Does TCL tv's have mount include?

My brackets re not longer than the hole distance in the tv... so it needs to be more longer?

Just bought the same television will have to get spacers like you to install the TV mounting bracket can you tell me what size the spacers was?

Thanks so much for this video. Can you please tell me the model number of TV mount you purchased in this video. I have a 43 inch TCL tv and the manual says to purchase a VESA 100x100, but I can't seem to locate that particular brand online. And to clarify, once I hook this TV mount I can then purchase pretty much any wall mount (with extender)?

Sorry, I dont really make many videos so I dont check often. I just thought this was important info to share. I dont quite remember the brand of the mount I bought, but I remember it was a popular brand on Amazon with the word "dream" in it. Sorry I cant be of more help

You need smaller bars for that TV

I just mounted my 75 inch and I just moved the brackets up so they start after the hang rather than over the ledge there. Is this not a good idea for whatever reason?

Hey to mount your 75 inch did you have to unscrew the screws that came inside the back of the tv? I just got my 75 inch tv and theres no place to screw in the back unless I unscrew screws that are there

@@MegaDubrock yeah, the unit came with 4 screws that had to be used with the mount instead of the mount screws. It's a non standard size screw but my TV has been up 3 months with no issues. Enjoy!

@@rockofthed THANK YOU MAN! Quick one last question: The instructions say mount must hold up to 5 times the net weight? How does that make sense? I got a mount that says it holds 132lb and the TV is 70lbs. Does the mount have to hold 5x70 or should my mount work? I appreciate the response hard to find this online.

I did the same thing with my 65-inch. I'm imagining yours is still hanging just fine. Surprisingly it doesn't seem to make much of a difference in tension at the tilt locks.

Mounting screws come with the mounts not the TV.

@@christ.4977 Thanks, I know. I was curious if he found screws already attached in those mounting holes because mine had some already. TCL finally got back to me and said yes they do, but not to use them. I'm only using them to connect straps so my TV won't tip over or slide of my stand.

Man TCL are just the worst. I put this TV in my back room and hate every time I have to use it. I decided to finally mount it on a universal stand (because the included one goes off the edge of the surface I want to mount it on), only to find the tilty brackets. Insane. My universal stand includes spacers, but still, what a nightmare.

You got it and you just used common sense mid shorter screws and bottom spacers with longer screws on bottom where brackets go
