Solving and Graphing Polynomial and Rational Inequalities
We've already introduced the concept of the inequality, but let's take it to the next level. We need to be able to solve and graph inequalities that involve rational functions, as well as functions with two variables. Check it out!

I was so confused in class, but now it all makes sense, thanks professor Dave!
Your videos are amazing... I'm finally understanding maths... Your all videos helping me get through College.... Thank you so much.
Am appriciating your help professor Dave you are lendering to me by posting these educative videos God bless and see you through 🙏
Wow, I see our best explainer professor Dave here, I would like to say thank you our best professor in the world, just keep it up, and give our best new science and knowledge as you stated every subject.❤
thank you souch professor Dave.. God bless you more🙏❤️
4:24 Great video, but you should've mentioned that the line for that parabola should actually be dotted since it's >0, not >=0. The Desmos graphing calculator confirms this.
The first comprehension is a bit difficult. The x-intercept is at -5. There are 2 asymptotes at x=-2 and x=2. The function curve is in 3 sections. I don't think there are any shortcuts to plotting a lot of values for x to be sure where the curves lie. I ended up plotting x = -10, -3, -2.1, -1.9, -1, 0, 1, 1.9, 2.1, 3 and 10. The 2nd comprehension is a bit easier. The x-intercept is at -1. Single asymptote at x=5. Function curve in 2 sections which you can estimate with a few points. I plotted x = -5, 0, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10. Wish I could draw graphs in a KZread comment!

Professor Dave values our time while we are learning.
Is there a book you wrote professor that contains all the content of the playlist??? Please answer
@Proffessor dave do you know abt wavy curve method?
How do we simplify the sides at 2:47? Would you explain please? If we are simply subtracting here, how do we get signs like those at 2:47?

So, with not giving up and repeating the clip, I finally figured it out. I know you might say it is actually pretty easy but for sure not until you know it. So, you have your example guys, keep it up and you'll get there.
SPOILERS!!! Minor detail: shouldn't the second Checking Comprehension question be written as x : (-1,5)? Still watching, still learning. Thanks Prof Dave!

that's interval notation he has written. Not the zeros. Although in this case they're both.
x + 5 x²-4 is (-♾,-5) U (-2, 2) and x + 1 x - 5 (-1,5)
what does it mean when he says by multiplying the denominator on both sides ??? at 5:00

a bit late but the equation is 2x + 2/x + 3 =0 "multiplying the denominator to both sides" means multiplying x + 3 (denominator) to the equation of 2x + 2/x + 3 and 0 so we get 2x + 2 *( x + 3)/x + 3 = 0 *(x + 3) which equals 2x + 2 = 0
Done.
Awesome explanation. What about if you can’t factor a rational polynomial?

Then you use the quadratic formula
As a 13 year old why is this so easy
