the amount of respect i have for you for doing this is enormous

I tried solving this a while back and figured out a fairly short alg that does a 3-cycle on UF, UB and DR [u r2 u': (r2 u2)6] u (r2 u2)6 u' (r2 u2)6 How I figured this out was by noticing that (r2 u2)6 did four 2-swaps, then tried random setup moves and stuff to see if that went anywhere. I realised that [u r2 u' : (r2 u2)6] gave a somewhat nice pattern, which looked like it could be solved by more of those 2-swaps from (r2 u2)6. What I then did was use u r2 u2 r2 as setup moves to make this into a U perm, then solve belt edges and EO with U perm and setup moves, which reduces the cube to gen. I then used more U perms to solve it.

ooh that’s fun! The only other optimization I found was while editing this video I tried my 3 U-perms and then Uw2 and then undo 3 U-perms and it was a bit shorter

That’s a different puzzle. What I’m doing here on the 3x3 simulates a puzzle that is mechanically internally bandaged to only allow those moves from the angle. These are called Weirdlings and there’s a whole set of them
