Resynching the key FOB worked for me. For those of you can get their key FOBS working again by replacing the batteries with new ones, only to have it stop again within a few days, I recommend resynching your FOBs. As Easy Steps mentioned in the description, you just 1. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position. 2. Press and release the lock button (on the FOB). 3. Press and hold the unlock button (on the FOB). 4. Within 1-2 seconds, press the remote's lock button five times in a row while holding the unlock button. This should resynch your key FOB to your vehicle.

I had a flat keyfob AND a blown fuse! Never Presume!

Thank you for bringing it to my attention about the fuse box !! I have a 2014 Mercedes ML350 and recently I had the car serviced at a Mercedes main dealer, then about a week later the engine management light came on and I took it back to the main dealer which is close to my house, they said that it was a new part for the turbo needing fitted and new seals too, this cost me £1200.00 to repair, but two days later after getting it fixed the engine management light came back on, so I returned it to them and they said it was coinsidence but now I need another new part for a different part of the car, again with a huge repair bill this time for just under £1400.00, but a few days after this was fixed another enginge management light came on and by now I'm feeling lighter in my wallet and feeling not very happy another engine management light has come back on and again just a few days after the last repair. The thing is Mercedes don't give a stuff about your car, they just want your money and they think that you should do repairs immediately irrespective of costs or whether you can afford it or not, so anyway I am now reluctant to take it back to them so they can dream up another huge repair bill and for them to get it wrong a third time, but just before I got it serviced and repaired so many times the message came up on my screen saying "Change battery in keyfob" but they have never once said anything about it to me. I have changed it myself but to no avail it still doesn't work properly and then I bought a packet of two small Mercedes Benz keyfob batteries and neither of them make any difference either, but I never thought about the fusebox ?? so after watching your video I now think that I will be looking at my fusebox too to see if this is where the problem originates from, to be honest I am a little dissapointed in Mercedes for finding all these expensive faults and for all the cost this has given me, especially if my warning lights come on just for a fuse, it might be like this.......you know in your house if you have a bulb blown and you don't change it, then the all start to blow because the circuit is broken, well it might be the same in my car except that it is my battery or my fuse. Sir thank you for your help....I will have it checked straight away (fingers crossed) Thank you Glen in Edinburgh, UK

Outstanding dude,it fixed my problem,for months the damn thing would not lock/unlock the...had to go very close to the door sensors but even then I had to use the key most of the times.We all know how hard it is to get that skinny key out and turn it....nightmare. I went to the dealer and considered buying a new key,thinking the one I have must be faulty...you made my day,thank you.

Thank you! You just saved me $550-700! It worked on my 2010 ml350. I just dealt with a lockout yesterday and now having both keys working, my mind is at ease. Keep doing what your going!

Was it the same #8 fuse ? On a ML350 the fuse for that is 33 and 34. I have the same problem with 2006 ML 350. Can you please tell me where to find that fuse and what number is ? Thank you.

Mercedes supply a bag of fuses in the tool compartment in the luggage compartment. Inside a small plastic bag.

This fix worked but only for a few days at a time. It keeps blowing fuses, so it must be a short. I'm not having any luck locating it. Has this happened to you? Or did the one time fuse replacement work? Great video 👍

Soft top works.. at certain stages .. I know there is a screw to release pressure.. I know if it’s tight you can’t manually pull up the soft top out the trunk area.. i think there might be a certain position it needs to be in at all times unless you’re manually opening and closing it.. is there a way to set it ??

Cherie Arnold I don’t think so you may have to go to a Mercedes specialist. I had an issue with my key fob and it turned on when it wanted to. It turned out to be a bad key fob.

So hope I'm not to late to the party but just looked at my 99 slk230 kompressor had the issue since I bought it while back but I looked in 2 fuse boxes no antenna module. I've replaced the batteries and even got a new job and swapped the guts from one to another but nada. Any ideas? I had zero fuses blown fyi

I had the same issue on a W203. checked all fuses and relays, and noothing was bad. after this, the keyfob was working. I thought it was just "bad contact" on the fuse.

Easy Steps fuse looked fine on mine, changed it anyway and gave a little tap on the tailgate trim (c class coupe) where the antenna is located... Everything seems to be working just fine now.. thanks! 👍

I hope this works for me. I've got a buyer waiting for me to fix this issue. Trying it in the morning ✌️

Does this work for the higher classes like the CL? We don’t have fues in our trunk but on either side of the dash. Do you know the name /category that the #8 fuse stands for? My keyfob won’t even turn in the ignition but my battery is fine.

hey nice vid, i got a w211 i can start the engine without key but car's doors won't unlock excepted the rear left door or trunk, Windows doesnt open or close nor the wings mirrors, any idea? thx

What year make and model Mercedes was that #8 fuse change in I have a 2012 GL450

My w211 is having the same problem, but it also won't start the car. I replaced both the keyfob and car battery, but no fix. The keyfob light blinks when pressing the buttons, and the cars lights and stereo works fine. I checked the fuse box in the trunk, but none of the fuses are bad or blow. My 8th fuse was actually a 30A fuse, the 9th, however, was 7.5A - neither looked bad. Any thoughts?

Hey easysteps I changed the batteries, changed the antenna fuse mine is 5amp GL450, last but not least I replaced the key fob as to no avail any suggestions ? Plz plz thanks

Hi, I have a w215 cl55 02. Do you know where this fuse is located? do see any fuses in the trunk.

This worked on w209 CLK350 cabriolet also. Funny, the MB fuse chart makes no mention. It was the 9th slot down in the trunk 7.5 fuse was blown.

Do you if this will unlock the anti theft system??
