Thanks, yours was the 3rd video I watched, after each of the first 2, I did what they suggested, all to no avail. After I watched your video I popped open the air gap and found it full of crap. Cleaned the air gap and it works like new. Thanks! My next step was going to be to call a repairman. I should send you a check.

DUDE!!! SERIOUSLY!! You are the man!! After, i pulled it out took off the hoses, clean the hoses, put the hoses back, clean the drain, looked for the repair guide, toss the repair guide over the balcony, go find the no help repair guide, find pages for the now missing repair guide, spend an hour figuring out I accidentally unplugged the machine while moving it back, getting the dreaded wife's "baby, maybe we should call somebody" and then finally going to KZread AND FINDING YOU!!!! THANK YOU AIN'T ENOUGH!!

This worked for me, THANK YOU! I unscrewed the cap on the airgap, removed a bit of debris and then was worried i was going to push it back down into the pipe by accident. Before going to grab my shop-vac I started the cycle with the cap off, this allowed the debris to shoot up and the rest of the water to clean the opening. Problem solved!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have repaired many a dishwasher, pumps gone bad, sensors, even control boards. The hard part is diagnosing and testing the easy things before ordering parts, or heaven forbid calling service. I, like you, tried the stuff that was mentioned on the Bosch site, but I never thought to check the air break. Two minutes later everything was working and the repair guy got a big kiss from a happy wife. Please stay healthy and stay safe in these crazy times!!

I had the same E24 issue with my 1 yr old Bosch - drain tube had the food residue. Big food particle was trying to pop out and it was stuck. Just cleared it and didn't go the extreme of suction..all worked - took just 2 minutes. Thanks for this video, very helpful.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This was the source of my clog. I’d spent 2 hours pulling the dishwasher out, sucking the lines clear with a shop vac, and still getting the code. I had no idea the air gap could come apart like that. Popped it open, and there was a fragment of a turkey bone and some rice stuck in there. Cleared it out, and now my BOSCH is running perfectly again.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! The first installation team could not figure it out, but they called it a pump malfunction. At the time, I offered to have the air gap changed; they said the part is all clean and good. Ten days later (while I was washing all dishes by hand), the company sent out another new dishwasher and a second team. They exchanged the dishwasher, but the same problem E-24 occurred after 5 washes. Thank you so much for your video. I do not have to call the company, handwash dishes for another 2 weeks, tip the installation team again, AND have the same problem ALL OVER AGAIN.

If you're installing a new Bosch 800 series and get this error on your first time running - check the garbage disposal to insure that the plug isn't installed - even if you had a dishwasher before. There's a knock-out plastic plug on the inside of the dishwasher connection on the garbage disposal. If it's in place or not entirely removed, Bosch senses the back pressure and throws a fault code e24 which indicates failure to drain.
