Solo woodland camp in the LanShan 2 | Bushcraft, steak and a surprise visit
In the woods for an overnight in my new LanShan 2 tent at Candy Corner Bushcraft. Bit of bushcraft, cooking a steak and enjoying time outdoors.
Thought I'd have the place to myself but bumped into the lovely chap that is Paul Messner, who was kind enough to stop for a chat and gave me some useful tips.
Equipment:
3F UL Gear LanShan 2 tent
Ray Mears Wilderness axe
TBS Boar Mk3 EDC
Big Agnes Rapide SL sleeping mat
Snugpak Special Forces 1 sleeping bag
Nemo Moonlite chair
Big, bald, shiny head Mk I

Hi Ant, cheers will do. Is it on Facebook? And thanks for watching!
Loving the video's mate. I have spent most of my life hiking and spending time in the great outdoors but only recently fancied a go at wildcamping. I have got my gear together and have some time off in a couple of weeks for a night away. Was planning a great adventure to the top of a mountain in the Lake District but having watched your videos I think a campsite that gives a wilder experience like this one would be a good idea to do a first solo camp and to test all my equipment properly ! Thanks for the inspiration and keep it up !

I came from Paul Messner's channel, I thought I would give you a sub and quick watch for the hell of it, but found you very down to earth and relateable. The "sweating my tits off!" comment made me watch until the end. Camping is not glamorous but, mostly, enjoyable and you showed that very well. I will keep watching if this is your style of video Chris...

I thought your face and dulcet tones was familiar when watching the Paul Messner video long time no see Chris i did not know you was in to the bush craft scene
Hi Chris great content mate. You seem like a fellow gentle giant. I've got the lanshan 2 pro and am still let to get the ridgeline without the dip. Its a fantastic tent tho even at 6ft7.

Hey Robin, thanks for watching. I’m well impressed with it, and great to hear someone even taller than me can still fit comfortably! Nice not have to sleep diagonally for once, that’s for sure.

@@chrismoutdoors I'll second that, nothing worse than being crampt. I fill mine with the Big A rapide tent floor pad. Love a roll around while I sleep. Next challenge is finding some hiking/ bushcraft apparel to wear. Any suggestions?

As a constructive hint, I'd tidy up your editing. 37 minutes might be a bit much yet. Start small, folks have short attention spans : )

@chrismoutdoors I have the exact tent btw 😉 I would say if u can get walk poles that are broke and use the ends as a lift up for the side panels to loft it for more space inside :)

I love my lanshan 2. I’ve had it 3 years now and it’s still going strong. It’s not too hard to get back in the stuff sack. Lay it flat, put the peaks into the center and smooth, then fold in half long ways and again. Then roll tight. I get about half into the sack nicely rolled and the rest ends up sliding in (almost a stuff). Packs small enough that I can keep it in a water bottle pocket.
Great camp tomahawk steak cooked on fire, nowt better than that mate😁

I wouldn't worry about the exact pole height too much. It's got a fairly large range. Short if you want to make it more windproof, long if you want to increase ventilation. I've had mine set at 130+ before now in the warmer weather, 110 in winter. 👍🏼🏕
