Solo Winter Bushcraft Camp and Cook
Ойын-сауық
In this video I do a solo winter bushcraft camp and cook. This was my first time ever doing a solo winter bushcraft camp and cook. In fact, it was only the second time I had ever camped in the snow! I backpacked in but didn't bring a tent so I had to construct a bushcraft shelter in the deep snow. It was 28ºF (-2ºC) with about 12 feet (3.6m) of snow. I cooked dinner and breakfast over the fire and had a great time!

Back in the day when I was a lot younger I spent many a night in little places like this while out hunting. Basically the only added things you need is a large tarp type covering big enough. Maybe an old folding hand shovel too. I e made them only like 4 foot wide and 8-10 feet long. Just. Wide enough to be comfortable and cozy in when the tarp is over it. I like to put a center pole in for some height rather than just laying poles etc across level. Makes it easier to create an opening for the flames whem using a pack stove or a little fire. That heat will build up fast folks and if you are not careful set your tarp/canvas/ whatever on fire. Or you can use logs-saplings etc with evergreen boughs only for the roof. It's not as air tight as canvas but it will help keep some heat in

في أول خمس ثواني لمشاهدتي الفيديو أصابتني حالة إسترخاء جميله ، هذا النوع من الفيديوهات علاج للتوتر والقلق
I made/invented what I call “ The Impervious Sleep/Survival System. I’ve tested it twice for 5 nights each. 1st run was Nova Scotia at -27F and Long Island -11F. It is an air bag sleep system in which you trap and heat the air inside. Each heating lasts three hours, so I have to sleep 3, fill it in 4 minutes and 9 seconds and then go back to sleep. No, it’s not worth patenting . It’s just more fun than anything. I sled a large 500 mA/hour rechargeable battery and it’s not practical. It limits how much food one can take. Got a bear visit in Canada. Scary.
@HikeCampClimb
2 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a very interesting sleep system. How do you heat the air inside?
@thetruthchannel4634
2 жыл бұрын
Milwaukee makes great equipment. They make a great cordless heat gun. Priceless. I also take two spare/extra batteries. One battery will fill the container about ten times. If it's going to be -25 , I take an extra covering and fill it also. Then I have to sleep with the batteries inside the sleep system. The heat gun blows up the inner "tube" in about 40 seconds. I can literally sleep naked if I wanted to. But I strip down to long John's. I set an alarm to wake up 4 hours after I sleep to make sure I'm not cold, I usually pump it up again (at least the inside) since I'm awake anyways. The nozzle of the Milwaukee fits perfectly. Guess there's nothing genius about it. But there is no greater insulator than air. And it's safe. No fire, no butane, no loss of oxygen. I don't want to die in my sleep. Nor by way of a bear, haha

I love the example of survival in the snow! I would've only done 2 things different. 1, i would've dug down at an angle and used the tree you cut up as a sliding door to cover the entrance incase of predators (depending on where i am). And 2, dug a small vent hole behind the fire and had a vent hole next to my head where i would lay down. Nicely done! . Thanks

The bravest men are those who can camp on the woods like these,not those who plot evil against others.
So many winter camping videos in snow are overblown.... or under-blown. The the conditions they actually camp in are more often a few flakes and an inch or two on the ground. The click bait claims "blizzard" and I fall for it. This video is the real deal. Bravo.

Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the video! Occasionally my friends at work make fun of me for doing that lol. They nod at me while we are eating lunch 😂

It's the little things. Like early in the video as your walking in. You've set the camera up and you're walking towards it but there's no footprints in the snow so you've clearly scouted the area, then placed the camera, walked back down and then come back up along a different path to get the shot. Your dedication is commendable.
Watching this made me realize this is real life Minecraft but way better. I love it!!!

Hey, I just watched this whole video and it totally inspired me to go try my own camp and cook, maybe a duo instead. I was just wondering if you are allowed to be taking trees down in the park? Normally the parks have certain rules about that stuff but I’d like to try it myself.

Hello, I’m glad you liked the video! A duo would be nice especially if you are new to this. This forest allows you to cut dead standing trees but some forests only allow you to use fallen dead trees. You just have to look up the rules for the forest you are camping in. Good luck on your adventures!
I love your videos keep up the great work and more like this one outstanding 🤚🤚👍👍
