Solo Wild Camping at Llyn y Fan Fach - Brecon Beacons

This place literally blew my mind, the landscape surrounding Llyn y Fan Fach is so raw, I couldn't wait to go hiking and solo wild camping and to take my drone up there to make this KZread Video.
Compared to Pen y Fan, Llyn y Fan Fach is so quiet, situated in the west of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, this gorgeous little lake is surrounded by towering mountains and hills with incredible views.
With some of the most picturesque wild camping spots in the UK, the Brecon Beacons is one of my favourite places to hike and get away from it all.
BTW, I MADE THIS INCREDIBLE BIT OF GEAR

Great video again Russ. I did this walk only last week, but approached from 6 miles or so to the south. Quite steep at times, but then again most things are for an old fart...😂. I live within an hour of these lakes and this place is my favourite anywhere in the world. People used to leave tins of soup, beans etc on the ledge up above the fire in the hut, for those who were stuck, not sure if the practice is followed now, there was nothing there last week at least. I've been up there in the snow and it's wild...! The wind last week was probably 40 knots - made things interesting along the ridges. keep up the great work...😉

I been watching KZread videos of people hiking and just had to try it. This was my first time proper hiking. I got slightly lost along the way, the paths I walked sometimes faded away into nothing ha ha it was an amazing adventure. When I got to pen-y-fan I camped at the peak in super thick fog and the immense wind broke my tent ha ha i packed wayy too heavy like every other newbie. I loved my adventure, filmed the whole thing, I want to take all my footage and make a KZread channel but I don't know how too 😭😭😭

Very nice bro... Do we need any permission for wild camping there? I really would to go.

Wild camping isn't really legal anywhere in Wales without the landowner's permission. But use common sense and leave no trace and it isn't a problem in our experience. Don't light a fire, setup your tent at dusk away from the trail and you should be fine. We just came back from the area yesterday and pitched at Llyn y Fan Fach. No-one else there, magic.
