Hey Mav! Ear infections are very serious and can gradually worsen extremely fast. I highly suggest you see a doctor because if there’s one thing you should absolutely not ignore or “pass” or treat at home is your ears. Hope you get better soon.

I can't agree enough. If it's bad enough, you can have permanent hearing loss, or, more likely, a spreading of the infection to other parts of your body. Ive experienced a stubborn ear infection spread to my sinuses and that sucked.

Especially when water gets into it. God I can tell you I was born with an ear infection and at it’s worst it literally feels like a migraine. My mom use to make a paper funnel , jam it into my ear and lit the other side on fire. It helped, but what really helped were ear drops from the doctors 😂

Hear the truth Mav. I almost lost part of my hearing due to an ear infection. It was actually a sinus infection I kept trying home remedies. I'm Mexican man so theres like a thousand and my family and friends swear they all work until they didn't and I ended up in hospital. Please go to the doctor you have enough funds. It looks like your little excursion was a success, I actually think it would be a special place to camp overnight for personal reasons. But let me say, you screwing around with your hearing like that is unwise very unwise! It could put a swift in to all your journeys if you mess around with such serious aspects of your health and lose your hearing being so foolish! I don't know what the stubborn appeal is the sticking garlic in your ear when you've already had serious trouble hearing loss for as long as you have,(two months?) stop playing, go to the damn doctor, quit screwing around or you'll lose something very precious to you and you may never get it back!!! Just imagine no longer being able to do what you do simply because of stubborn we wish pride?!?! You can definitely do better!!!

Mav: A big Thank you for taking us along on your adventures and travels. I appreciate the time, effort, money and energy you take with allowing us to be a part of your cooking gourmet meals, recipes and fine dining at sunset. It's been fun to follow you for years from the Volkswagon to the new truck, from tent camping to purchasing property and set up an Airbnb. It's been endearing to watch your interaction and navigation with other cultures. In all you do, you remember to give back, share and donate. In this manner you have proven to be a class act. I have learned a lot, especially from your showing us how to be prepared when traveling far and not to just depend on cell phones, to get a satellite link phone to have emergency mode of communication. In your travels, far and near, you make sure no profanity and are law abiding. All of this is really enriching and appreciated. Of all of your videos, from catching macho monster fish, lobster catching ice fishing, the one I enjoyed the most was the one where the mouse got in your truck. Thank you for the memories of all things, great and small. You are appreciated. From your 65 year old follower. Amen.

Hey Mav, The New Brunswick side of the Bay of Fundy is the lower tide side. If you really want to see the rush' of tide you need to go to the Nova Scotia side of the Bay where you can watch it coming in much faster than the place you were at. The Nova Scotia side is basically the very end of the funnel where the tide creeps up and then falls over into the end of the bay. It sounds dramatic but there isn't a waterfall per se, although it does actually fall into the end of the bay. The Emergency Tower you were on actually can be used for helicopters to do emergency pickups on. They don't land on them, they lift from them. Landing on ground during the tide coming in, being in, or going out, is even too risky for the rescue helicopters to get close. They literally drop a line down from the copter on a winch and a basket on the line and a rescue personnel clipped into the line to pick up, tend to any immediate medical issues for the pick up, assist the person(s) into the basket, and communicate with the pilot by radio any info the pilot may need on the ground rescue. The platforms also are used if someone is injured on the rocks, or beach, again for helicopters to pick up in the same way, administer any first aid or life support, etc, before bringing the injured on board the helicopter. Or in the case that someone gets stuck ion the beach because they aren't watching the shoreline closely and need to get up away from the tide coming in. The tide, although it looks peaceful and slow coming in, is actually very turbulent, and anyone that gets past their knees in water can easily get pulled under in undertows, and they won't be able to get to the surface. The tidal current is superstrong. Even the strongest professional swimmers woud have a hard time fighting the current to get to the surface for air. And, Camping on it like you did, if you got caught, is a huge fine, I would strongly suggest not to do that again. If there was an emergency and that platform was needed and you were camping on it. You could end up arrested and charged because you could potentially be putting someones life at risk by being camped there. The signs on the railings clearly state EMERGENCY USE ONLY on all visible sides, and Air Rescue and Beach Patrol in the area are hardcore about that. I know this because I've seen Beach Patrol go hardcore on people that just go up on the platform to look and take pictures. It's meant as a rescue platform. How I know this: I used to be an oncall rescue personnel both in Nova Scotia and British Columbia, and had my certification in Emergency Disaster Preparedness and Rescue for 8 years in total, and have gone out on rescue calls in the Bay of Fundy when I was living in Nova Scotia before moving to BC. I no longer do it though, and no longer live on either coast. Not meant to be hard on you at all, just want you to be aware. I don't wanna see you get in any trouble or get caught in a bad situation. Keep On Truckin, and Keep Safe Always, Matt - Toronto, Canada

@Mav, why haven't you taken the time to visit an urgent care while on the road and address the ear infection? It literally takes very little time and leaving an ear infection untreated could lead to potential hearing loss. I am a nurse of nearly 30 years... and a mom. I realize you are busy but take care of yourself please. Be safe and well. My best, Lisa
