SEND ME A REPLY SO I CAN FIND THIS VIDEO PLEASE!
These patterns are so run-friendly it’s amazing, once the map is in your head you can literally dance across the fretboard. Thanks Brian!
You literally put every other guitar tutor ever to shame! You explain things so clearly it's unbelievable. I feel like I've been blind this whole time and have 20/20 vision after seeing these videos. You're absolutely incredible man.

Thanks for the words man. Glad you are diggin the vids 😎
Wauw. I didn't see how easy this actually is. 3 pentatonic boxes, Some extra notes and you Got the Whole fretboard
He's the only one showing us these secrets. I have watched tons of videos and these make me laugh because it's like wow. Now it makes all those videos look stupid or make sense. I'm going to jam to wasted years by maiden because damn I wasted years lol. Brian Kelleys videos really have really shown me a lot in very few moments.

A lot of us can relate to this, others show similar stuff but not how to join the dots or understand it properly. Brian is a great teacher.
Anytime I watch a Brian Kelly video it’s like some neurological path connect to another, he’s the ultimate teacher, plus you make it so easy to understand!!! I feel like I’m always getting confused by some videos but every single one of your videos is just so easy to digest. You truly are a great teacher and thank you for sharing your knowledge

Hey much appreciated!!
Man,I have been playing for 30yrs and you just made everything so much easier to see and understand on the fretboard.Great work man.
Best guitar instructor I've uncovered on the web. So thoughtful and accessible. Outstanding
I strongly suggest players to take this fretboard graph, and physically write in all of the notes in C Major. Then divide them up into all 7 positions and fill the graph with just the one position. Instead of writing just a dot, write the name of the note in each spot. Do that and you have a very solid foundation for all music theory. Great lesson as always Brian. ^-^
Whoa!! A light just went off in my head, I've got it now!! I been trying to figure this out for a while. Nobody told me that major and minor use same "scale shaps" it's just where you start on the root note. I've been strumming guitar for over 30 years and decided I want to learn a little lead and after this I can!!!! Brian your the best teacher you break things down so well and explain every aspect so I can digest it. Thank you!!!!
Your video on circle of 5ths opened my world that seemed locked for so long. And now you keep doing it. I watch a lot but you are the teacher that works best for me at this point in my journey and I Thank You.
This is it! The lightbulb moment! The one peice of the puzzle that's been alluding me all this time! Thank you! Thank you! A THOUSAND TIMES THANK YOU!
Brian, thanks so much for making clear that which has been unclear for so long. You do have a gift for explaining music theory so it really all fits together.
Really concise breakdown of this stuff. I’ve seen other teachers make it more confusing than it needs to be. Breaking it into three patterns rather than a different shape for each note in the scale is so helpful. Thanks for sharing!
Thanx for putting these diagrams on and playing them with the chords. They help a lot and make perfect sense. And the 3 note per string is easier to memorize then the old Pattens. Great work.
Thank you for the lesson. In essence, once you see that the scale patterns contain overlapping sections it becomes much easier to play over the fret board by just learning the distinct patterns. Awesome.
A 'maze'ing !! I was in the guitar maze for years! Now I'm a maze runner ! No more lost .Thanks to sir Kelly!
When I was learning back as a teen in the early 80s, I discovered a similar method. Mine uses pentatonic box one at then 5th, 10th, and 12th (or at the open sting position). Then, I learned what the "missing" notes were at each position. There are overlaps in the 10th and 12th fret positions. but it is so easy to visualize later. Also, I had never heard of any 3 note per string system, but that was what I discovered to smoothly get from the 5th fret to the 10th fret. A few years later, I discovered modes, so I labeled the three positions the Aeolian Box, Dorian Box, and Phrygian Box. It was an easy way to see the three relative major/minor modes. Then 20 years later I discovered the 3 note per string, CAGED, 7 position, and the 4 other pentatonic. All thanks to the internet, because I am completely self taught.
This is how I learned to play well. Neither tab or standard musical notation made sense to me but once I got the big picture using these patterns, my playing shot into the stratosphere! This stuff works!
This is the most insightful and informative lesson I have seen. I was never able see how to connect the whole fret board in terms of the major scale till now. Only under stood the pentatonic because memorizing the 5 shapes. Now you just solved the major scale mystery for me. Thanks so much! Keep up the great lessons!
Great video! This should clear up so many issues for so many musicians. The best explanation of so many confusing concepts in one video, you nailed it on so many levels. I'm sending this link to all my friends. Thank you, I can't wait to get my guitar and play!
This is brilliant. I now understand much better on how to read the scale diagram. Great video. Thank you
What an amazing description of scales. Thank you and keep them coming .
Thank you. I've been looking for a video just like this for like a freakin' year. Thank you. Earned my sub.
tnx Bryan , i really recommended to be a member of your site ,you really lift me up on playing and understanding the fret board ,keep the gr8 job.
Great lesson. After years of playing, this has given me a new way to think about scales. Thanks man!
Come & join the Zombie Guitar Facebook members group 👍🏼 🤟🏽 Great lesson as always Brian.
Man this is awesome! Thanks for this also you remind me of Adam Sandler a bit in a good way. Cheers mate.
Plain excellent. Thank you for taking the time to provide this. It's exactly what I hope will advance my playing. Appreciate it!
I think this should be the go to lesson for the diatonic scale. No one else is teaching the 3 pattern approach.
Excellent Brian! Thank you for all the guitar GEMs/diamonds you share 🙏🏾👍🏽👍🏽🤜🏽🤛🏻!
I learn seven positions three notes per string five positions with variations of notes per strings, I never once thought to combine them. This is priceless I feel like such a doofus.
Always great and very concise information that makes sense. Keep up the great work man.
You've changed my perception of soloing so much!!! You sir are great teacher! Thank you heaps!
Thank you so so much Brian. I have learned all the patterns in major and minor but didn’t really understand how to apply and link them. You have completely demystified this for me and are an amazing teacher. Thank you very much. Kevin
Thanks Brian for such a valuable lesson, after seeing so many vids on U tube, this lesson has just opened the fretboard for me. Much appreciated... God bless 🙏
Very good and clear lesson. Thanks for the wonderful job, Brian1
Awesome job love watching YOUR signature vids, learned a lot ty...
I learned a whole lot from you and got lots of questions answered by your explaining!! My mind just keeps getting clicked. Best guitar teacher I’ve see. Truly amazing!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍!!!!!
Brian!!! Thanks so much for your lessons! I’ve attempted to learn more about the guitar and became frustrated. I’d bought a new guitar thinking it would help. Didn’t do a damn thing for me. Learned the fretboard. Learned more chords than I already knew. Started learning pentatonics, realized I was in over my head. Tried learning music theory. I was lost. I think you get the picture. I ended up letting my new guitar just sit there and eventually quit altogether. Pouring through KZread videos I happened to come across some of your lessons. Listened to a few and I was through the roof happy. Your videos are ideal. Picked my guitar and followed every word you said. In the last two days I’ve learned more about my playing and things make sense now. Thanks so much for your wonderful lessons. They have truly been a blessing. I also want to thank you for not showing everyone how fast you are on the guitar. No more guitar jamz for me. It pissss me off. Nuff said! Thanks again

Awesome thanks! It's easier to understand now more than ever!
Thanks Brian, you make it so easy to understand!
Great video. This is the best video I have found for understanding how to play across the entire fret board for Major and Minor keys. I like the video so much I decided to buy your book. The book is a great reference book. Love it. Thanks for the great work.
Thanks for lesson! Excellent Explanation! Keep up the good work!
T H A N K Y O U . I have SEEN something like this (keyword is seen) and was SO confused. No one explained it so that I could understand. AND NOW FINALLY YOU SHOWED ME. The fact that you showed that its three different patterns made it make so much more sense to me. You sir are now my favorite guitar teacher out there.

Absolutely fantastic. Mind blown. Hello from Spokane Washington USA
You're a good teacher, Sir Brian !
Excellent lesson thanks!
Thank you very much for that Brian, I`ve found that really useful.
Thank you ZG!
Another knock out video. These are perfect for the beginner/ intermediate. Not so much for someone brand new to guitar because it's too much. However, with practice and repeated watching and learning these little pieces come together one by one. It's really amazing. Good work. Thank you

It’s very clear, amazing lesson ! Thank u🇫🇷👍🏼🍒
Very clever Bro throwing in the 3 note per string pattern is brilliant it connects them beautifully
I love you Brian I. Thanks for a very clear lesson and simple great examples.
Every string have just one note each to fret 12 Remember the position of the note at any string will make easy steps to follow patterns
Thanks... very well explained , this really helps
I've found these Videos Very Helpful and I believe I'll be able to handle it better.
What an awesome tutorial Brian. It cleared up some questions I’m sure many of us had and you made it clear and most of all non intimidating. Also like the cords pics. Let’s hit those likes folks. Thanks Brian
After suffering through several explanations of the CAGED system by other instructors, this actually makes sense to me. Really useful!! Thanks!
@zombieguitar
3 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind, this isn't what the CAGED system is about. This lesson here is about the key-scale (layer 1)...the CAGED system is about chords (layer 2). It is very important to make this distinction 😀
Thanks Brian!
First video I found of yours on KZread, and probably one of the most beneficial to my understanding of the guitar. I always had to look at scales in tablature because I never understood where to begin the scale on those diagrams...I’m self taught by the way. When you look at those diagrams it looks like every note on the fret board practically has a dot on it, but understanding where and how to start the scale suddenly puts everything in the sharp focus.

Hello, I can not thank you enough for the roadmap, I was at that level trying to figure it out how to play from fret #1 all the way to fret #22 or #24. God bless you and your family. Happy 2023. They do make sense to me 100%. 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑.
Hey man this is fantastic thank you!!
Thnx for this !
You have some great lessons. I’ve been playing for a while, but I’ve never really concentrated on single note lines until fairly recently. Your lessons are really helpful - now that I’m ready to get them.

Great lesson appreciated🙏
Thank you, very well done.
HO LEE SCHYITTE! So well explained - wish someone could have shown me this years ago!!
Man, you’re a genius. Thanks a lot. 👌
great lesson Brian thank you. I now fully understand the relationship between scales and keys and how to solo. Everybody tells you to learn scales but not what to do with them. i can also see the relationship between the modes now and the scales and the sound.
@zombieguitar

Be careful...this lesson has NOTHING to do with "modes". This is a common misunderstanding where people confuse "scale patterns" with modes!
The secret is finally revealed! Thank You Brian for this and the Blues Pentatonic Scales Video...
love the way you show the frett board diagram, I don't have to learn everything from an ass-backward point of view. thank you for your introspection.
As a new person to the guitar this is priceless, thank you so much for all the time you've took to do this ..... jules ipswich uk
