This video, thanks to you, Taylor, inspired me to hike Mount Washington. I'm 69 and was hesitant to attempt it. But I hiked 12 mountains, each one bigger and longer than the last. Plus exercise. Then the day after Labor Day, 2023, it came true. I'll never forget it. Great videos. I appreciate the hard work that goes into them, being a retired videographer. Hike on, be safe.
Loved this hike! Thanks for showing so much scenery (wow - so many people!). Looking forward to more (and of course to you being able to take on the AT end to end.). Be safe and happy trails.
Nice video Taylor, I never tire of seeing Mt Washington : it is awe inspiring. Thanks
Great Work!! I love seeing the PLB, that mountain is no joke. Glad you take safety seriously!
I love this trail! You would love Mount Adams. Up The Airline trail even steeper The view is just as good as well. You did a great job!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! In 1975 On Memorial Day a friend and I hiked up and skiied Tuckermans, most of the trail up was snow covered and skiing was great. We also skied down as far as we could then bushwacked back to the car. Weather was perfect and beer was cold. About a month later we biked up the road until clouds got so thick we couldn't see anything. No guardrails, just big rocks about 10 feet apart. Decided to turn around and head down. The constant braking heated the rims up enough to melt the sew-up glue and our tires started to roll of the rims. Kind of a hairy descent but again the beer was cold at the bottom. This Maineiac loves your posts, ayuh!
Hello Taylor, a big thank you for sharing another beautifully filmed video. You always do a great job. I'm envious that you are able to get out and hike. Right now there are 31 fires ablaze in California. I like your hiking outfit, very colorful. You're a true trendsetter. All the best to you Dear. Please stay safe and healthy. 🤗
I drove up the mountain in July of this year. Stayed at the Glen House. Absolutely beautiful place. I wish i could have experienced it in this way. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the videos, great to see new trails around NH. Too bad it's so overcrowded lately, with people leaving garbage everywhere. Sad. Next time I'm in the lakes region, have to stop by the store and pick up a Nahamsha sticker👍
When I was in high school, I would hike up the Ammonusuc Ravine Trail and descend via the Jewell Trail. Afterward, we would go for a swim in river.
so excited to watch this!! washington looked so beautiful covered in snow from your last trip ☺️

It was so pretty, makes me want to hike it again in a couple months to see the snow
Hi Taylor. I was so psyched to see this one. I did that exact trail when I was up there visiting my cousins about a month ago. It was clear at first, but was semi wet and the clouds moved in and I never got to see the view that you had from on top. Thank you so much for that. I was remembering all the landmarks that you were showing. So, love your videos. I can not wait for your next one. I am learning a lot . I am backpacking West Virginia this week. I am going to hit as many peaks in the Whites starting in April. I can't wait for my merchandise to come in. Probably today. I will be wearing them on my trip. Plan on getting more. You rock:)

Awesome! Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed. Enjoy your new nahamsha stuff!
My first hike ever was Mt Washington via Tuckerman in 2008. It was brutal for a first hike but got me hooked, and that was the start of my NH48 adventure. Many thanks from Quebec,

We are thinking of doing it this summer. Is Tuckerman harder than Ammonoosuc? What makes people choose one trail over the other? Thanks.

@@donnajean72 I found Tuckerman way harder, but Amonoosuc is a bit longer. Thence the choice between grade and distance. Both are very scenic and awesome.
Cool fashion and Mt. Washington - can't beat that. Thanks for braving the busyness for this weeks episode.

Awesome hike! Was out there a couple months ago but wasn't able to hike it cause I'm recovering from a twisted ankle. Also, your voice is so similar to mine that I can finally understand what I probably sound like to other people without cringing from hearing my own voice. And I like it! Thank you so much for this accidental gift!
You had a beautiful day , I was taking to someone recently about my trip took the sane way you did , it started out beautiful and then up by where the alpine started it started downpouring and winds kicked up to 80+ got to the hut and we decided it might be more dangerous to turn back some we pushed to the summit and made it and were lucky enough to take a train down .
Love it! /Beautiful views! We used to hike in the area back in the day. Not sure we could do this hike now.
Girl you are like a breath of fresh cool mountain air! 😊🏔💨😝👍

Agreed that your videos and your editing continue to get better and better. Well done! You mentioned it was a "zoo" up there. I would urge you to use your platform to remind folks to consider purchasing a NH Hike Safe card. Fish and Game is always stretched thin but especially this year with Covid and with so many new hikers out there - many of whom are not as prepared as they could be. Thanks and be safe out there.
Great video. Can't wait till the next one. Thank you.

That place looked so different on Monday morning. Quite frightening but no rain, no crazy hurricane force winds, no Maine 😁
Haha, I was there the same day. Beautiful day! We did tucks, and boot spur on the way down!
Nice video! I love the ammonoosuc ravine trail up Mt. Washington. It’s steep but enjoyable. Looks like you had to deal with some crowds though!! Try it again in winter, you’ll hardly see a soul!
Awesome video 🙂 can’t wait to do Washington in the spring or summer. I think I’ve missed my window of wanting to do it this season haha

We're heading up the AT and over Washington in 2 weeks! I did it on my NOBO thru hike in 2017, but I'm a still a little nervous as this was one of the harder sections. BUT... after this is Wildcat Mountain... This is nothing compared to that so get ready! I hope you did it! It's very challenging! You'll love it.
Awesome i am hoping do try this next i did mount jefferson yesterday my 1st real hike haha was such a blast! Great video!
Just missed you. I hiked that trail Saturday with my family. It was crowded then too, but the weather was great for Washington. Enjoy your videos. Just getting back into hiking after years away from it. You inspired us to do Mt. Pierce in another one of your videos.

Looks like if I time it right, I could fit in a "good" weather visit to Mt. Washington before close of the season. I keep seeing discouraging updates from the observatory about snow and low temps. When I last went in 2017 to watch the hillclimb race, that was the middle of July. Even then the temps got cold and a bit rainy. So I keep thinking doing a drive to the summit now would be hit or miss. But this video makes me think maybe not!
Haha I did this trail a week or two ago with my friends it’s so cool seeing the video you made now. You really captured the whole adventure. good video!

Took a 4 1/2 hr car ride from NYC to Hanover NH (for a few days). Nice little town. Hike the AT for 10 miles from Hanover (5 miles out, 5 miles back to Hanover). The forest/trail was dark and dense and it was a perfectly sunny day. I like New Hampshire/Vermont ... cute little towns.
Taylor, you're great. We were just talking about Mt. Washington and you had just done it. Here's your video. I've only driven to the top although that's an adventure itself. Man I miss NH. Too late for this year but it looks like 2021. :)

Hike and climb while you can young lady. At 71 my knees won't allow that anymore. Starting in the early 70's I climbed Mt. Washington 17 times plus 3 other times that we prudently turned back due to inclement weather. The Franconian Ridge and the Pemigewassett Wilderness are two other favorite hikes in the Whites. Stay safe, peace.
you started at 11:00 am?! If I am on the trail past 7 I am paranoid of not making it back before dark.

I love Mt. Washington, but I also respect it. I've aged out for that type of challenge. I was fortunate in '98 with my thruhike to have gorgeous weather. My wife and I did a three day EDUTRIP sponsered by the observatory in January. They also sponser one in the summer.Wonderful experience. Thank you for this video, it reminded me of my experiences there.

I thruhiked in 98 (age 55) and stayed in 3 of the huts between Crawdord Notch and Pinkham notch. I noticed most of the people who stayed in the huts were overnight hikers and make reservations weeks or months ahead. Back then the hut system would make room for a few thruhikers (work for stay) each night ; I'm not sure about now. Work was minimal. The huts were too expensive(about $70 US including 2 great meals and a bunk) for many thruhikers, especially college kids). I was older with disposable income so I was fortunate. Many young thruhikers thought the huts should be free. Staying in the huts was a great experience, food was awesome and the college aged staff who work there had a lot of good stories about competition between the huts. There are several interesting books on tragedies on the mountain (over 200 deaths). The rescue teams have my highest respect.
Awesome video! Really nice hike. Thanks for sharing!

Great video. I recently did my first 4k footer in May. Mt. Flume. Washington is on my list so this route info is helpful. Have you ever camped on a Mt. Washington hike?
Thanks for sharing the hike with us. It looked like more people hiking up the trail with you than down. Do some hikers take the cog down instead of hiking it down?

My first hike was toubkal North Africa this summer would love to find a group or another hiker to do mount washington in the fall !) thx
You bring back so many memories of vacation time as a kid in the Whites. One thing is to show just a little more of the drive to the location since I know the roads and towns around the area can be as beautiful to see. Where is your gift shop located?
Great video! Taylor, do you recommend this for an old man who’s hiked the approach trail to Springer Mountain, from Vogel State Park to Blood Mountain, then to Neel’s Gap? We’re thinking of taking a two week road trip next summer to stop there, then on to Baxter State Park in Maine for our 25th wedding anniversary. Thank you for sharing!
