I was planning to hike this trail, however, after watching this video, I realized that it is too challenging and decided just to drive the to top. thanks, great video.

Hiked this in the fall of 2020. There was no one there and it was exhausting. What a journey! Great video and I hope you and the crew had fun! Also... I thought the top of the bowl was the top of the mountain at the time... that last part over the razor sharp rocks was rough!

Man that sounds awesome! Yeah we had a fun time despite my complaints
My friends and I just hiked this the other day and we felt the same way about the top 🙃 Was really hard to enjoy the summit amidst all the tourist chaos, and it felt very overwhelming/rushed. Didnt get to soak it all in... It was a fun (yet challenging) hike overall though. We went up Lions Head though and had a blast scrambling over those giant rocks! Probably my favorite part of the hike! Oh, we also hiked on a Tuesday and the trail itself was super bare, pretty much had it all to ourselves which was nice. 😁 Great video, thanks for sharing 😊

Nice. I still need to try the lions head route, seems super fun. Thanks for sharing your experience
Great video, I down hiked this trail today after summitting Washington this morning. We did lions head the Tuckermans …. my teenage daughter and I did the southern end of the presi traverse and stayed at lake of the clouds last night. So we hiked it on weekdays and there were hardly any people out. I also hiked it with minimal water knowing we had sources just as you described. No a@@holes thankfully, I think they only come out on weekends … thanks for the content and I’m a new subscriber.

About a month ago I attempted this hike, but had nearly 40 lbs of weight on my back while holding the leashes for my 8lb Shih Tzu and 18 lb terrier. I had a tent and food for several days because I planned on camping overnight, but made the mistake of not bringing a water filter and started to run out of water about a mile before the summit. Had to turn back, but I’ll be back up there with my dogs again sometime this year! Thanks for the video.

A great hike. We do 10 days up there every August. Hike all the white Mountains We don’t use backpacks. We use fishing vests. They distribute the weight better. We both have LL Bean nice top of the line fishing vest. You can carry more with even distribution.

I'd like to hike up to the Lakes of the Clouds. I've seen some outstanding and gorgeous photos from Mt Lafayette and Franconia Ridge trail loop as well. I have to drive to NH. I'm from NY. I need to join a hiking group since it'll be my first time in NH.
@FinerBub
10 күн бұрын
Yeah it is beautiful up there. The Lincoln Lafayette loop is a great day hike. If you can't find a group to go with, try driving up on a weekend in the summertime and hiking it during daylight hours. It will feel more crowded but there will be enough other people around you on the trails to feel confident that you won't get lost. Most people are more than happy to give advice or directions if you ask politely. However I do agree that it is always safer to hike with at least one other person, but who knows, you may end up making a friend or two on the trail. The AMC Highland Center and Pinkham Notch Visitors center are also good places to meet fellow hikers. Good luck!

I agree. I’ve been atop both more than a half dozen times each and the Katahdin experience is better if for no other reason than it being less commercial and crowded. I do think that Huntington is more difficult than any of the Katahdin trails and maybe the Great Gulf head wall also.

I have a question. I’m doing this exact hike on October 7th. As someone who has done this hike around this time (kinda) do you think it’s be safe to bring my dog (borderaussie) & do you think we’d need spikes?
@FinerBub

I would regularly check the weather leading up to your hike. If it snows, bring the spikes. The rocks will get slippery. As for the dog, completely depends on endurance. This is a long hike…
