One of the main differences between the E350 and the E450 is the rear axle ratio. The E350 has a 4.120 rating while the E450 has a 4.56 rating. You may use more fuel with the E450 but you will have the towing and hill-climbing power. Also, in the hills you should get better fuel mileage than the E350.There are a lot of differences between the two engine models. Even though the E350 has received a lot of upgrades those difference still exist and the E450 may be the superior engine. This includes the fact that they both use the same transmission. The first difference is that there is a 3 1/2” difference in the rear track, with the E450 being the larger of the two. Also, there is a thicker gauge of steel used in the E450 than the E350. Third, the E450 uses a 10.75 rear differential while the E350 has moved up to a 10.5. In total towing weight, the E450 can tow about 9,500 pounds while the E350 can only haul 8,500. Then the E450 uses a hydro-boost brake system that applies more pressure than the E350 which uses a vacuum boost system. Fifth, the E350 does get marginally better fuel mileage than the E450. it will all depend, plus, the ride is smoother with the former than the latter.

Very nice shower stall! Finally a bathroom in an ambulance. Nicely done on the layout. I think though you should sell the current bed structure and build a slat bed that pulls out. It seems to be the only version that works for an ambulance. You will recover your money, as RV items sell fast.

In an F Series truck the frame goes from 1/4" to 5/16" when you go from 350 to 450/550. Not sure on the cutaway world (vans sold with frame behind cab) ....likely the big difference is the brakes.

The Ford E350 has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 12,500 lbs, while the Ford E450 has a GVWR of 14,500 lbs. This means that the E450 is capable of handling more weight overall, making it a better option for those who need to transport heavier items or equipment.Jan 2, 2023

A tree fell on my 2011 E450 shuttle bus, 6 months after I paid $10k for it. Wasn't sure how to fix it. Until I found a 2005 e450 ambulance, with a blown motor, for $2k. A little smaller than the bus, but, I'm finding that ambulances are far superior to shuttle busses.

I wonder if you could raise your roof on your vehicle? I think that it would be cool to have some type of deck that could come out from beneath the vehicle and when you leave it stows underneath? This one is cool as well? Can you do a detailed walk-through of your vehicle?

Nice video and nice rig. I’m wondering, the cabinets above the refrigerator as you enter the rig, are those standard with those little drawers? I haven’t seen that before in the rigs I’ve been looking at. Also, what does Sherri do for a toilet? I’m also curious, since she leaves the bed down most of the time, it must be a pain to access the storage under the bed. Does she even use that storage? And about the shower, it wasn’t entirely clear...did she cut a hole in the floor for a drain? Wonderful rig, wonderful video. It clearly shows that with minimum modification, you can have a camper ready to go. 👍

What kind of highway "gas" MPG do these E350 & 450 ambulances with the 7.3L diesel engines typically get? They're obviously very heavy but look like perfect conversion vehicles. Thanks for any info.
