Solidworks tutorial: Centrifugal Pump Spiral Volute Casing Designing | CFP Casing design
Step by Step designing the Spiral Casing of a Centrifugal Pump
A pump casing is often referred to as a volute. A volute is a spiral-like geometry with an increasing through-flow area, reducing the velocity of the fluid and increasing the static pressure. The fluid exiting the impeller is then diffused towards the casing discharge nozzle.

great video for learning... thanks
Thank you very much I love you.
Thanks! Pretty cool tutorial

Glad you liked it!
Awesome work mate , I'm fine with the speed of the video , maybe need to pause sometimes here and there but overall great work !

Thanks! Glad to know that you understood why video speeds were increased here & there Because there were some repetitive, simple and slow steps. So,In order to reduce overall video length the speed were increased.
amazing thank you

Please send me more videos like this I am Design Engineer
amazing video! but i have a question. why didn't you make the loft cut through the whole volute? i mean, there's a portion of the volute that won't receive fluid directly from the rotor
I have a question, can we create the flow simulation by only using the blade and casing, or we need to add other minor things such as bearing etc? Thank you
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh

yes. For Creating a Flow Simulation of a Pump, you just need the Casing and Impeller only. No need to add other parts.
Sir if in place of back music you explain every command in English it bemes more useful . Very nice. Thanks

i had that idea But I realized that narrating each and every small steps is more irritating. thus i decided to put Subtitle only wherever it requires to explain the important thing. Rest of the things are screen recorded which are self explanatory to a design engineer.
thank you

How to calculate the helix pitch & revolution for different sizes?
@luizhz
3 жыл бұрын
Use velocity = constant in all circle areas; 360º = full area and Q = flow flow / /180º = 0,5A = 0,5 Q // 90º = 0,25A and 0,25Q . You need this to not have an unbalanced load in shaft when running in nominal flow.
At 2:20 My solidworks doesn't show the make pierce option
❤
how to animate the video
Hello. Can you please also do the impeller?
no impeller?
I keep getting zero thickness geometry at 9:55
Have you sped up the video ...cause its way too fast but nice video though..
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh

thanks, i understand that the video is fast little bit (1.5x ) So watch it at 0.75x it will be at normal speed then.
Video could have slow down. Very difficult to continue otherwise nice work.

Noted down, watch at 0.75x it will come down to normal speed.
Nice video. But it's really too fast. Makes you waste lot of time rewinding and pausing always
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh

Pls watch at low playback speed
Slow down. Good video but cannot keep up with the mouse movements.
Take it easy, take your time, slow down the video, I know you don't work this fast.
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh

speed 1.5X is not too high.This is maintained to reduced the length of the video & save the time of viewers.

Can u tell me how we have to add the plane after creating the spiral path
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh
4 жыл бұрын
The Plane is created Using a Line & A Point as shown at 1:53. Perpendicular/coincident/offset etc are the properties of plane that can selected from the menu.

you can slow down the video from youtube, it's simple
Where are you going? Are you in a hurry? Why don't you make this moderately? Anyway good..

i hate watching long & Slow Videos and also believe that most people also do the same.Thus, Understanding the Importance of time for the Viewer,i don't want to extend the durations of any design video upto long hours.
So fast. No way to learn
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh

Only repetitive portions are made fast. try reducing playback speed.
Not useful, the drawing is fast. Slow down the drawing man.

To reduce the length of video,the only repetitive and time taking steps are speed up. If finding fast somewhere,try reducing the playback speed.
