SOLIDWORKS Simulation 2016 Webinar Series 2/3: Be more productive by using Bolt Connectors

Спорт

Bolted connections can be tricky to set up and analyze. The Bolt Connector can accurately represent the behavior of a bolted connection with minimal setup work.
In this webinar, you’ll learn how to properly use the Bolt Connector tool, and all of the options that go along with it. You’ll also learn how to automatically create bolt connectors from the toolbox bolts that are already in your assembly.

Very helpful Video! I have a question, If I want to connect many different parts(beams) with bolts should I apply as global contact no penetration so as to avoid the unwanted results of a bonded contact? The thing is that with no penetration as global contact the simulation wont run, takes long time and stops due to numerical difficulties. Does it have any point to combine bolt connectors with bonded global contact?

Is anyone know if I import from assembly screws from library into simulation is it going to make me problems with mesh and study? Or I need to delete library screws from assembly and than separately create bolts for simulation?

Based on what criteria you fill "Preload"

Hello.. what if I already have bolts and nuts attached to parts in the assembly? do I have to delete all of them?
