Solid Bag Carp Fishing with Rob Burgess | Masterclass 9

Спорт

Korda Carp Fishing coach Rob Burgess showcases one of the most effective ways to catch carp... the PVA Solid Bag.
The "Korda Koach" really is the main man when it comes to Solid PVA Bag fishing, no one produces a tighter, neater PVA bag in seconds! Follow Rob as he expertly explains how this versatile killer tactic can be applied to multiple scenarios from the island canopies of Farlows Lake, to the Long-Range heavy baiting tactics of Linear Fisheries.
Expect in-depth technical sections on Solid Bag mixes, PVA Solid Bag tying, rigs, hookbaits and application - all supported by underwater footage and of course BIG CARP!

Great from rob as always. Such a consistent angler. Great to see he has a struggle occasionally with his casting. Not many companies would show that in a film and it’s refreshing and reassuring to see it happens to everyone not just me ! Top work guys 👍

Really, really enjoyed this one. Rob really has come on leaps and bounds in his presenting and this was really informative and really engaging. Well done to all involved (photography and editing superb, as we've come to expect) but especially Rob of course. I use sold bags loads in my fishing but there were some really excellent bits of advice that I don't currently do (lead to one side, sleeves rather than tail-rubbers for example), so I will take these away and put into practice. Also the morning spombing at bite time is different to my thought process until now so will give that a try too. Thanks all. Great job.

Here in the California, US we are not allowed to prebait so solid bags or mesh are the only way to do it. I like bags personally and I picked up a tip with how you place them in the bag so thanks for that! Do you like crushed Boilies at all? That seems to work better than pellet for wild carp any idea as to why? I’m finding crushed CELL with a pink or yellow slow sinking Maize gets me bites but I blank with the pellet mix. Trying to get better, could you maybe do a Masterclass “wild” series on spots that have non stocked natural locations? There are a lot of US carp anglers but we don’t have stocked venues here so something like that would really help increase knowledge with applicable tactics and tips. Thanks again for making a great video, top notch.

This is really great video for someone like myself who fishes bags all the time and in such a similar manner to Rob; gives me even more confidence! Even down to the single corn and the small(ish) hooks, that's my style all over and personally I think it works wonders. Have incidentally caught Catfish up to 30lb on size 8 and even 10 hooks no problem. Edit; QUESTION to you all - I almost religiously use back leads particularly when I'm fishing a swim that is tight and playing a fish without them is likely to result in wiping other lines out. I notice this is a problem Rob had several times in the video. I'd swear it makes no difference to my bite detection (well I would wouldn't I) but what am I missing re: con's of using back leads? Thoughts?

I have to say the Korda PVA bags are the best. They're strong, they don't stick to themselves, and you can really pack them tight. And Rob is right they don't have any taste, if anything (to me anyway) they kinda have a very slight sweet taste. Cheap pva bags taste like chems and go all loosey goosey once tied. Korda Solidz are the way to go. I use the dark matter braid on my PVAs rigs....does the job, if the fish are biting, I'm catching!

  • @Kingcarparpeggio

Mate, you don’t need hugely expensive gear. Concentrate on strong line, sharp hook, good bait and most important of all fish location. Personally I do have expensive rods, reels etc but that’s because I’m 67 and can afford it. If I was starting again I’d do it much more cheaply ( less attractive to thieving scum). I still use Asda sandwich boxes for tackle boxes and I buy all my terminal tackle from eBay ( Bank Tackle). Korda PVA are certainly one of the best bags you can buy but I still buy mine on eBay….you don’t need to lick them…..turn them inside out before you fill them. I fish three days a week most of the year so have to make savings where I can but I don’t rubbish the tackle industry and hope they are always there for all of us. Lastly I’d like to say Danny Fairbrass and Embryo are doing a fantastic job for the carp fishing industry and anyone knocking that is a sad bastard. Long may it continue.

I use solid bags all the time and would disagree with you Rob. I use whole 15mm boilies in my bags as well as crumb and pellet. 100 yards no problem. Very good video

He's also wrong about korda bags having no taste, they taste like absolute shit and it's the worst thing about bag fishing

@@danwilliams7021 actually you can disagree. not the way he doing it but because he says you cant use boilies. where i fish there are tons of roaches and other small fish. smaller baits are useless here. and what happens if you put boilies in a bag. i just lick it and put it on the bare hook. see no need to put the lead in. all i want a few boilies ying next to the hook bait after the bag meltet. and guess what carp bite. no doubt about being able to cast farere and way more accurate with a nicely build bag. however you just need to know what you want to achieve.
