Another great Night at the Museum. I love the idea about getting kids interested in history class with stuff like this. I learned a ton about WWII from building models as a kid.

It's always a pleasure to see you at the museum my friend !!! History class would have been so much fun if my teacher had these action figures to teach about the historical moments rather than books hahaha !!!

I like that the hands are made to hold the rifle well. I also like the hat on the figure, it looks really good! The head could of been made better, it doesn't look very British. The uniform looks good as well. To me the body should have less mussel, he has too much of a Hercules look hahaha! He is still a cool figure to have, I also enjoy the historic information on the box. I wish more kids today could have the experience of playing with actual toys like this one instead of video games but hey what can you do, I am glad that at least now I could afford and appreciate toys like this. I know if I had one of these as a kid I would have played the heck out of it. There is just something special when you can physically hold something and do something with it versus just watching a screen and pushing buttons. Toys like this gave more opportunity to be creative, think outside the box, and learn

Excellent comments my friend !! You made some fantastic points about the new generation of kids !!! Video games, Tablets, Smartphones and Vr headsets have changed the way our kids play !!! These Soldiers Of The World figures are considered ancient relics now !! It's sad that these Action Figures have become an endangered species in the toy kingdom !!! Sadly the only place these Action Figures can be enjoyed at now, is toy museums like mine.

I didn't have this one, but had many other SOTW figures. Like you said Gi Joes were expensive so this was the alternative. I remember my mother telling me I could get one of these but not GI Joe. I think the only GI Joe got wat the Abrams Tank Commander one. Strangely enough I become an Abrams Crewman later on. But I remember these SOTW with fondness, they made up the bulk of my childhood toys, the few I had.

A good report, of a figure I think not very well known. It does appear that she is wearing a good uniform, as well as the material that goes with it. At your command.

The British infantry regiments of 1914-1918 Thank you roberto ligotti and great details on the soldiers of the world britain infantryman and epic historical figure and Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle Mk III and great videos The British infantry regiments of 1914-1918 This section of the Long, Long Trail will be helpful for anyone wishing to find out about the history of the battalions of the British infantry. The “Poor Bloody Infantry” had the deadliest role of all and also shouldered the burden of much carrying and labouring work. The history and affiliations of every battalion of every British infantry regiment can be found on these pages. All you need to do is find the regiment and click the link. The basis of the detail shown in the pages linked below is the excellent work in Brigadier E. A. James “British regiments 1914-1918” (Samson Books, 1978) but with many corrections and additions by Chris Baker. These are mainly derived from battalion war diaries and published regimental histories. Troops of the 7th Battalion, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry Regiment, returning from the trenches; near Toutencourt, 18th May 1917. Imperial War Museum image Q2160 The Guards Regiments Considered by many to be the elite of the infantry of the regular army, the Guards had no battalions of the Territorial Force and raised none for Lord Kitchener’s New Armies. In common with all other infantry regiments regiments they eventually took in both “duration only” volunteers and conscripts but the Guards took care to maintain their pre-war standards of efficiency and were amongst the infantry most feared by the enemy. The Line Regiments The majority of the infantry was made up of regiments with county or other regional affiliations. Most had two battalions of the regular army in 1914: one was usually overseas and the other trained recruits in the United Kingdom. Most regiments, except those in Ireland, also had two or more battalions of the Territorial Force. All raised battalions for Lord Kitchener’s New Armies and some also raised miscellaneous training and labouring units during the war. Regiments by alphabet Regiments by army precedence Coldstream Guards Grenadier Guards Grenadier Guards Coldstream Guards Irish Guards Scots Guards Scots Guards Irish Guards Welsh Guards Welsh Guards The Guards also raised a Machine Gun Regiment The Territorial-only Regiments Some infantry regiments were exclusively composed of part-time volunteer soldiers of the Territorial Force and had no Regular or New Army battalions.
