I actually love this detail because it shows as vaught and supes have gone forward they have been less and less scrutinized. Homelander can wear a muscle suit because he's more of a celebrity and actor than he is actually heroic, but soldier boy, a supe that had to go out and fight in war to prove their metal was really buff and put in the work (kinda)
