The best part of this, the more story you get into, the more we get to know the characters, and it's a really well done exposition in some cases. Zenless is gonna have a nice lifespan with good combat and story to come. Only thing a gamer could ask for, other than the incredibly stable game engine they gave us! No crashes with near 24/7 play. Legendary game developers, well done.

Eh, boring personality Anby 2.0 imo, but there is some interesting stuff there so things may change! Edit: I also used to like the soldier character from Overwatch, and she is giving me similar vibes, which is cool.

Soldier 11's reaction to hearing Anby's voice reveals a lot about her feelings toward her. I find it interesting how she rebels against every advice Anby gives her. "Try not to provoke them", she angles her blade as to "shut her up" and provokes them anyways. "Find cover, don't be reckless", while recklessly running out, deflecting bullets. "Save your strength", but goes all out. "Soilder 11. what are you-", she responds with that she's going to walk her own path almost spitefully. Knowing about her immense hate for traitors because of a personal experience, you can make a plausable theory that her and Anby were close (clones or siblings) and were battling together (since she can hear Anby's advice as if Soilder 11 already knows what she would say) but that Anby betrayed her by doing something unforgivable or left her behind without a word or reason.

I think Anby deserted the army after the fall of the old capital, branding her as a traitor especially if they are what I think they are, clones bred for combat. That kind of special existence can't just resign. Though Anby could have been separated by accident from the army after the fall of the old capital, she never returned. She wanted to be free. So she wandered around the streets and alleys of New Eridu until Nicole found her in a dumpster and pretty much adopted her because of her skill in fighting.

I have a guess why, but the general idea is that the memory of her sister hangs on her like a heavy enough burden to determine her actions. By the way, this is why Anby cannot be the traitor who caused the Soldier’s quirks. Why on earth does the voice of a traitor have authority? But if the traitor is a soldier herself, who, whether consciously or not, abandoned her sister in such a way that she, as she thinks, died, explains a lot. For example, why give up the name, that is, identity. Yes, because the association “traitor” hangs on it.

Just as the name, say, Darwin, evokes associations with the theory of evolution and so on, her name for her meant “The one who killed his sister, the one who abandoned his sister, the one who betrayed his sister.” What about Soldier 11? Soldier 11 follows the order and all is well. She didn't betray. She is simply running from the past, as well as, apparently, severely traumatized by Anby's betrayal. After all, no one forced her to give up her name. This is her personal initiative.

@@al103 This number can mean anything. The serial number is not necessary, and it does not have to correspond to age seniority. Maybe Anby was the first to be accepted into the program, and when the eldest found out about it, when there were ten other people there, she also asked to support her sister.

I thought I heard a rare voiceline where she comes to Anby's rescue in game where she says her name concerned. Cant wait to learn more

Maybe because Anby never had any memories when being her to the cunning hares, but she’s still knows military training which makes sense since that her weapon moveset is like the same for Soldier 11. But it could be because that she wasn’t really to prove herself that she’s a worth soldier but 11 is? Either way. I want them to meet each other someday (IF HOYO DECIDES TO DO IT.)

Anby is prob the clone that was the first successful one, prob making her Soldier 1(or 111 like her backpack says. Due to her backpack being more primitive it's likely Anby is a older model less fine tuned but more heavily invested in, like Master Chief and the later Spartan projects). Anby likely was let free on purpose to collect more data by the military force. Also during the missions Soldier 11 clearly knows someone who loves burgers and movies, who shounds just like Anby

Ok my theory is that they’re twin sisters or soldier clones or something like that who were raised in military forces. They must’ve developed a really close relationship if 11 *specifically* recalls Anby’s advice whenever she’s in bad combat situations. Maybe Anby took 11 under her wing and gave her advice as they went through combat missions together? Anby mentions in chapter 1 that she wouldn’t let the people being abandoned by Vision die, saying that she “won’t make the same mistake again”. Perhaps she was forced to leave people to die before, and it messed with her sense of morality so much that she ended up leaving the military force and therefore abandoning 11? This would’ve hurt 11 a lot too, and maybe it gave her thoughts of choosing her own path like Anby did? Who knows? I definitely wanna see what the connection between them really is

Anby may have been a Soldier with Soilder 11. Maybe clones? They look and move too similar to be just siblings.

I really like theory about Anby being her sister. Besides similar looks and her appearing in Soldier's mind... They have similar fighting moves. Like, too similar to not be intentional. And next is just speculation. Anby mentions that "she won't let it happen again" some time in the story, don't remember when exactly and exact words, but I'm sure it can be found. Soldier 11 has a big thing about traitors, so maybe... Anby was a soldier too. Two trained together, hence them having similar fighting styles. In my theory, maybe something happen, that made Anby desert, which, without а doubt, would affect Soldier 11. And now she is very conflicted, cause her sister is really important to her, she loves her, Anby (as we see in this video) helped a lot and taught her. But Soldier is so loyal to her service. There is (probably) misunderstanding between them, about why Anby left, conflict of priorities. I think, at some point, we will probably get their actual story, and I'm so here for it.

Soldier 11 is what I imagine the embodiment of hard-work is

I got her c1 and her starting with her skill is crazy. Learning her hit timing is fun too. She's such a good char.

Seeing this trailer really makes me curious about 11 and Anby's connection. They seem close and its very obvious after Nekomata's mission that something about Anby's past really troubles her. When she got introduced many people said that Hoyo is running out of ideas and complaining because how similar she is to Anby, not even thinking they could be related in some way or the lore behind it. That alone opened me on how low the practical thinking really is for many of the players. No wonder Genshin community for example, is notorious for being toxic. Avoid Hoyolab and Twitter related community, save yourself some braincells.

Fun fact: With Soldier 11, you’re able to block/cut most projectiles (bullets, missiles, ethereal shots, etc) by dahsing and then holding whatever you have the dash button set to. I’m unsure if this works with any other characters, but 🤷‍♂️.

@@comrad3892 By the looks of it, Anby seems had more experience than S11, she must be the older sis then... but somehow looks younger than S11... Who knows🤣 But yeah... I like to think that at some point in the near future, Anby got stuck in Hollow for years, and somehow she manage to go back to the present day, join the military and using made-up names as S11... Maybe she looking for something within the government.... But, it's just my theory, since we only know so little about Hollow, and how Hollow actually work, we already knows it contains corruption and also could bend the space... And when they drop Prof. Arche name that had been missing since Eridu era, I'm pretty sure this guy will comeback at some point in the story and that's how "time and space" come into play "Buuuut.... it could be wrong"

So... Finally they've confirmed Anby & Soldier 11 are related, can't wait to see more of her group considering right now the only teams she can run (if you want her bonus) is by running another Fire unit.

I hadn't thought of it before, but Soldier 11 and Anby have extremely similar fighting styles, same hair color, and their outfits are similar too. we can assume that Anby and Nicole are sisters since their last names line up, so was Nicole adopted by their family? if so, why did Soldier 11 discard her name and join the Defense Force, while Anby and Nicole went to form the Cunning Hares? I hope we get to learn more about this in the future!

I think you might have that a little backwards. Nicole is definitely the one who "adopted" Anby into her group and Anby's relations to Soldier 11 are certainly from the same background. Did Anby leave the Defense Force?. . or perhaps were her and Soldier 11 part of the same organization and went down different paths? So many mysteries here.

In the menu where Trust with characters are displayed, you can read some background info on some of the characters. In Anbys descriptions its mentioned how she apparently suffered memory loss and that Nicole found and adopted her. Nicole named her Anby Demara.

There's a lot of comments speculating Anby and 11 are siblings, but I'd like to put forward another theory; they're clones. They don't just look similar, they're practically identical in appearance and fighting style. They even sound similar at times if Anby raises her voice in combat, and given 11's English VA hasn't been confirmed yet, it may be Sam Slade, Anby's (and Topaz's) VA. (side note, the mystery sniper in 11's final quest sounded a lot like her too). It's possible they were in some sort of training program, and that Anby managed to escape. It would explain her total lack of common sense if she never finished training, and her mysterious past before joining the Cunning Hares.

I legit just pulled her last night, this made me want to build her even MORE!!!! this game rocks!!!! ZZZ

No wonder the ultimate of both 11 and Anby looks almost identical, they're probably related or clones.

Really Like her character and gameplay

When i first watch this teaser, i actually knew something very related stories between Anby and Soldier 11, this is gonna be interesting until Anby and Soldier 11 met each other for years

Can't wait for another character from that organisation. We got to hear someone called "Trigger". Hope we will get something like sniper character some day
