@VJExavior Trust me....There have been scores of time I didn't remember to put on the heat shrink :-) I've never tried heating the wire first. I've always had great results with the way I did it. I guess, like most things in life, use what works best for you. I'm going to try it your way and see how it goes. Thanks for stopping by.

So many times I've looked down at my workbench after soldering 2 wires together to see my heat shrink tubing sitting there cut and prepped, but not on my wires. Good catch! I'm curious about your technique, as I was taught to heat the wire, and let the solder flow onto the wire rather than the iron. Is there a benefit to using the method you demonstrated here?
