A solar powered/peddle powered Dune buggy camper with a seats that fold down into a double bed would be a cool idea.

This device can be solar powered due to low speed requirements. Such a low speed can be reached even with only 50 Watts, and a suitable speed reducer will provide enough torque.

No, the same principle can be applied to highway speed electric cars. They just don't go very far in one day without also plugging in for a full charge or letting them sit for several days between use to gather a full charge. Soon PV cells will be standard on all electric cars.

Popeye Gordon But in a high-speed electric car batteries will discharge quicker than solar cells charge them. Therefore, solar cells in them can only slightly augment other methods of charging. While in a low-speed vehicle like this one, solar cells in case of good weather can be the sole source of energy to power the electric motor, as 50 Watts will be enough. Despite all that, I also think that solar cells on roof will soon be a standard accessory on all electric cars, even high-speed ones. In case of necessity, if batteries are discharged, and there is no source of energy near the car, solar cells will allow moving at very low speed until the nearest charging station or socket is reached. They can also help slightly charge the battery when the car is parked for a long period of time. That's like solar cells integrated into some power banks: they do not fully replace other methods of charging, but they do provide some additional joules when needed.

It seems to go church by church. There are certain Amish groups that allow Solar electric refrigerators and solar electric lanterns to be used in their households. But no solar electric buggies so far.
