In our quest for seeking out a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle, we made a plan that includes zero waste living, tiny home living and full-time travel. We considered buying an RV, looked at trailers and airstreams but settled on doing a bus conversion for our off the grid, tiny house on wheels. We bought a 1996 MCI 102 D3 coach bus and with the Bus Demolition and Interior Shell complete, now we turn it into our Tiny Home on Wheels!
Watch Season 2: Bus Demolition series here: • Bus Demolition - Rehab...
Watch Season 3: Bus Build series here: • The Bus Build - Rehabi...
In its previous life, our MCI bus was used as a school bus, although we don't think we can legitimately call it a skoolie. We are confident that converting our bus into a class a motor home will have challenges, but doing a massive overhaul and remodel on a motorhome / RV remodel didn’t seem to align with the off grid bus life we were aiming for.
In Season 4 we share the interior build as we turn it into our home.

A suggestion is that you really batten down the wiring, you don't want anything flapping in the breeze. You can look at the youtuber "beginning this morning" for how they did it.

Nice system and it will serve you well! Kidney stones are terrible (I have had them) but if you don't want any more stones always put lemon juice in the water you drink. It prevents the stones from forming and it keeps you hydrated better than just plain water.

NOT SURE WHAT VOLTAGE YOU SOLAR CELLS ARE. BUT SIMPLE CALCULATION IF A 110V AC LOAD REQUIRES 5mm2 CABLE THEN AT 12VDC IT REQURES A 50mm2 CABLE FOR APPROX SAME VOLTAGE DROP. SO TALK TO SOLAR CELL SUPPLIERS ABOUT REQUIED CABLE SIZE ALSO PUTTING YOU CELL CELLS IN PARALLEL OR SERIES WILL EFFECT THE CABLE SIZE. GOOD LUCK.RH

Just curious, with the potential to pull 6kw, why did Battleborn not recommend going 24V/48V battery bank. 6kw at 12V will generate a lot of heat, cause you to have massive wires, is inefficient, and also a lot of dangerous amps. 1C @270ah would be 270amps *12V=3.2Kw. Safe and healthy .2C @270ah would be 54amps*12V=648W no way close to 3Kw inverter even with three batteries. 48v system with 54amp draw nets you 2.5Kw. You could push the amp up to 100 and net yourself 4.8kw. Closer to the 6kw potential. Since you have three you can't run them in series. Personally, I wouldn't go over 2kw on a 12v system. If you haven't raised that question with them pose it and see what they say.

They looked 10 guage? so 30amps max. each panel is likely around 10amps @24volts. maybe 2 series 2 parrael = 30ish amps or better in my opinion would be 3s 2p for 20 amps down the line with a 48 input from solar to the charge controller. Your solar wiring is going to be a big problem. Your voltmeter showed 20.6 volts which means you wired all six panels in parallel. You have 235w x 6 = 1410 watts of solar at 20.6 volts which means 68.4 amps over a 10 gauge wire. You will have huge power losses if you don’t start a fire first. You should add a second solar entry gland and connect your panels in 2 groups of 3 panels in series. Each 3 panel group would put out 61.8 volts. Your solar controllers are designed for a maximum of 150 volts input voltage and 70 amps output at about 14 volts in your case. 3 panels = 705 watts divide by 14 volts = 50.3 amp under perfect test conditions. In reality you’ll be lucky to get 45 amps per controller. If you make this wiring change your controllers and your 10 gauge wiring will be perfect. You will need a minimum of 6 gauge wire from each controller to the battery depending on distance. You should mount the controllers as close to the batteries as possible.
