I've finished this in around 4 hours. It's enjoyable and the art and tech art are exquisite but the story, dialogue and overall gameplay depth lack much to be desired. Keep that in mind when buying.

IGN’s rating system is so damn broken. They’ll make a 7 sound like its damn near Game of the Year, then sometimes make a 7 sound like you should wait til its in the bargain bin

and thats because different reviewers have different emphazies of their highlights and problems of a game, be it story, graphics, controls, mechanics etc reviews emphasize more on each attributes differently. you need to understand that, then you'll stop complainning

Is missing the rail the players fault or then games? As if it gives you control when jumping from each rail its the players fault but if its like ratchet and clank when it you just press a button / direction and it automatically puts you on the next rail then its the games fault

It's not automatic, you have to jump to reach the next rail more or less on it.

@@mecharobots It's not the games fault most of the time. When you land, you can only keep riding if you land on the new rail, and the direction depends on your orientation when you land on it. If you were turning around midair to avoid falling, then it's normal that Rei lands facing the camera and so doesn't take the rail in the direction you may want. The game cannot guess your intent, you controlled her to land in this direction on a rail.

@@mecharobots why? It’s on purpose. Proper timing needed. You can also turn on automatic rail grinding, it might help a bit.

3:50 actually skill issue, you're using the enemy grapple move wrong why the hell would you use it on flat open terrain around multiple enemies when you KNOW it leaves you vulnerable for a moment? just kite them and drive-by slash

You'd probably have a better time getting lightning to strike you twice. Hyper Light Drifter is a polished, singular vision that couldn't, and probably shouldn't, be given a sequel
