@@alkindi5647 (at least the first 8 hours) of starfield is dry AF... its a bit like the start of mass effect 1 but without any of the tension, epicness, or fun :) Playing this was a great palet cleanser

Finally. A good 3D Sonic game.

The artstyle reminds me of Furi somehow (another brilliant game imo). Can't wait to try this out.

There was some drama about Furi copying Hyper Light Drifter's art direction many years back. I don't know how much truth there was to it, but there are similar character proportions, styling, and especially color palettes in both. This is the followup to HLD, so it makes sense that it would also look quite similar. All great games, IMO.

@@RyanMSwartz Isn't HLD much more pixelated and pokemon-style? Regardless I agree they're all good games and i think everyone can benefit if games copy good features and styles from each other, as long as they improve on it themselves

Sony paid for timed-console-exclusivity for this game. So after several months to a year, once that contract is up... the developers will most likely release it on Xbox (& possibly Nintendo Switch, if a port is do-able for that system).

Hey so Marty got this. About as curious as I was if this turned out any good I was also curious to see who at The Escapist would win the inevitable bout that must have ensued for who got to review this.

So whens it coming to steam? I just saw this on sale on PS and thought it looked really cool. Bummer that it cant be with the rest of my library on steam though since that's my preferred platform.

soon as I heard "heart machine" My own heart skipped a beat. i LOVED hyper light drifter. Can't wait to give this a go.

Annapurna is always top notch. I'm just sad I have to wait for it to launch on Steam

Amazing review and cool voice Marty! If scotch had a voice it would sound like you. I hope that someone at The Escapist come with a cool name for the genre of the Shadow of the Colossus inheritors.

He says "throughout the 6 hour adventure" so I'd guess 6 hours. Might wait for a sale if it's only 6 hours

Cool review! but showing the final area of the game in the review is not something many people appreciate.

Not sure if I want to wait for a sale or not for it. Six hours seems short, but could be worth it since the game looks absolutely gorgeous and is made by a smaller studio.

I definitely don't regret picking it up. It's super re-playable

It does look like our protagonist disappears easily as the camera pulls out for boss fights, they might need to fiddle with the skybox colours or the boss colours.

Yep, this game is much, much easier than HLD.

Looks great! I was really intrigued until i heard the last 3 words of the review T___T

Not anywhere near as good as Hyper Light Drifter, but a decent effort, I think. Hope their next game can be much better, now that they have their 3D engine in place.

This game is actually amazing but if you're looking for hyper light drifter like combat you're obviously gonna be Dissapointed.

Ah, so basically Sonic when it’s actually good. Got it.
