Really cool art! As original creator wanna tell smth about canon 1. He, himself, actually looks way more canon than GWAM version. Both in terms of clothes, hair and, well, personality. 2. His sword, however, has quite a unique guard in canon. The sword is made by Oliver (Sol's father), and it's guard is made like white angelic wing on 1 side and as black fire on another side, to represent unity between Oliver and Cirael.
