I was waiting for this reaction, many thanks..C: When I first heard this, I was stunned by Sohyangs' presence but also thought the arrangement was a little weird/awkward for some reason. And then, I listened to it a couple of times more. Now I am thoroughly addicted. Sohyang has been singing the original song for more than a decade (as a gospel song in churches and charity events), and it was and is very important to her. The arrangement she put out in Immortal songs was actually the 8th edition she was working on, and the reason she, her family and her composer worked so hard on it is because - as she said - this song reflects her own life and she wanted that to show. At the same time, she wanted to make a partial tribute to Westlife and Irish music that popularized the original song in the UK (which is the reason for those Celtic/Irish influences inside the re-arrangement). When recorded back in April for the show, Sohyang was in a pretty bad shape health wise (recovering from the 4th pneumonia in 3 years and also dealing with other health problems related to her condition). Hell, her doctor advised her to not even talk on that night. She really wanted to do this though, and although in the performance itself it shows that she is not 100%, she did a truly astonishing job. I wish her good health and to continue comforting people with her signing. She is a truly inspiring artist and person.

Glad to see someone mentioning the Irish influences ☺️ I’m Irish so it’s nice to see people recognizing our music. The Irish part really reminded me of something and I realized it was the beginning of “reel around the sun” from the show Riverdance

I was wondering when you were gonna react to this just today!!! I got goose bumps is what my wife told me when we first heard this but I was busy crying....She sure took that one to the church!!! Her husband does most of the arrangements with her ....She got a new song out coming Friday featuring her sister in law famous Jinjoo from DNCE!!!

You speak of the clarity and ease of these notes, which i totally agree, but what you may not know, was that she had severe Pneumonia during this performance. She had just seen a Dr. an hour or two before this, and he told her to NOT SPEAK... at all, yet she came out on stage, with weak lungs, and a bad throat, and does this. Unthinkable. Plus, this was not just the normal cover, this was a PRODUCTION. HUGE song. Oh and about the instrumentalists... there are a few videos that show SoHyang talking with each of them, and explaining how SHE wants them to do certain parts of the song. She is the Producer.
