What makes this MASTER CLASS performance even more impressive, the PHENOMENAL So Hyang IS NOT well here. Prior to this event, she was released from the hospital, still recovering from one of her numerous bouts with pneumonia (2016 - 2018). Her doctors advised her to cancel, and to not talk, and to just rest. So Hyang indicated she did not want to disappoint the audience. This performance took such a toll on her throat, that afterwards, So Hyang believed her singing career was over. She disappeared from public performances for two years. She returned in 2020. So Hyang, along with several other well known singers, performed mini concerts throughout South Korea, as part of the Begin Again Korea, concert series. The concerts were to bring comfort to people during the pandemic. In 2022, So Hyang has proven her technique is ROCK SOLID. In my opinion, her voice sounds as good or even better now than it did years ago.

Who would ever have thought that the best vocalist in the world would be a tiny Gospel singer from South Korea, eh? I don't know if you know this Jenn, but So Hyang had pneumonia when she did this performance and had to go to the hospital again afterwards. During that performance, So hyang was diagnosed with pneumonia and the doctor told her not to sing, and she sang while taking painkillers. If you listen closely, So hyang voice is thick.... After that performance, S ohyang devoted herself to treatment for about two years and started her activities the year before.

Thank you for your reaction. I can see So Hyang has an effect on you, as she does almost everyone who has heard her beautiful voice. I do not know if you have reacted to 'Lean On Me' or 'I Have Nothing' (with her wearing a blue dress - that version), and then there is a master class in singing entitled 'Everyone'. also her beautiful work in the Begin Again concerts are sooooo great, including a cover of 'Misty' and a semi-rap song with other great musicians called 'DayDay'. Then there is 'Oh Holy Night' and 'Amazing Grace' and, well.... you get the idea, ha! She is a treasure to listen to!

She is a Cancer survivor And still gets sick from Time to time. But is an Amazing Artist who gave up a Kpop career to sing for the Lord and for the Love of Music instead of stardom. She learned English as a Child from Disney Movies, which inspired her to Write two of her Books...(both Published and there are more). Also And Publicly thanks Mariah Carey for teaching her everything she Knows about Music ... that is some Testament to The Power of Music So Hyang said in a rare interview that she graced a KZread vocal coach from Turkey (Emre Yucelen) with that the most difficult song she ever performed is "Everyone" and her reason was sustaining her breath .. amoung her fans Everyone is her her very best song but Arirang Alone with her Bb5 mixed belt is her signature song .. in all honesty all her songs are amazing in their own right ... She also has diversity in genre's aside from CCM and Ballads even Rock (Mona Lisa) and HipHop/Rap (Day Day) from the original S. Korean show King of Masked Singer. Lastly she is also an Author of Fantasy Novels. and working on writting a Screen Play of 3 parts

Good News- I have "Arirang Alone" coming next week! Hope you will stick around and watch some of the other artists too. Dimash, as you know, Diana Ankudinova, Courtney Hadwin, Angelina Jordan, Aurora, Lara Fabian, and then there's BETH HART! OMG. At first glance you're taken aback by her looking prettty drugged up and definitley "out there", but I've learned that she had been clean a couple of months before this particular performance, and it KNOCKED ME OFF MY FEET! @@sushisin377 I think you must be thinking of my Sohyang reaction to "Bridge of Troubled Water". That was the only other one I have reacted to. ( I do have "arirang alone" coming next week though) Because I just recorded this last week! Or else you have gotten me mistaken for a different reactor. Please let me know, as Im curious now! lol. See, this is one of the reasons why I no longer listen to any of the garbage here in the states when there is so much more beautiful talent on the other side of the planet. Nowadays, it is Kpop, Ktrot, Gugak out of South Korea, and amazing singers in the Philippines, China, Indonesia, and Malaysia for my metal and rock I go to Japan. I told you that in order to appreciate other talented singers you gotta have an open mind. Who doesn't love Kim So Hyang but if you ask me My all-time favorite is another South Korean singer Cho Yung Jin aka ALi Cho, IMO she is the ultimate and most powerful singer who does multiple genres, but if you have issues with the language barrier then I suggest not to bother with those foreigner singers, unless they sing in English.
