Another ENTHUSIASTIC/FANTASTIC/AWESOME reaction. The PHENOMENAL So Hyang IS NOT well here, and she still gives a MASTER CLASS performance. Some time prior to this event, she was released from the hospital, still recovering from her most recent bout with severe pneumonia (eight times between 2016 - 2020). Her doctors advised her to cancel, to not speak, and to just rest. At the same time, So Hyang was experiencing vocal cord issues. She did not want to disappoint the audience. Furthermore, So Hyang believed her singing career was over, and she wanted to perform one last time. After this event, she was readmitted to the hospital. So Hyang disappeared from public singing for nearly two years. She returned in 2020. Fast forward to 2024, not only is she aging in reverse, So Hyang is sounding better than ever. Her vocal range is still ridiculous, and her breath control remains insane. She has proven her vocal technique is ROCK SOLID!! So Hyang is singing to God.

@@SaeedReacts. During her cancer surgery two decades ago, So Hyang needed a blood transfusion. She received tainted blood and contracted Hepatitis B or C. This has given her a compromised immune system, making her susceptible to bouts of severe pneumonia. She has performed several times while not fully recovered from pneumonia. However, you would never know it by her otherworldly vocals.

You’ve probably heard already on your other reactions that Sohyang was ill & had pneumonia, well that is partly true but just to clarify, this is actually what happened. Sohyang had had numerous bouts of pneumonia & illness in general as she has a weakened immune system which is as a result of the treatment she had for cancer when she was in her early 20’s. When people refer to her having pneumonia whilst performing, the truth is that it is this performance where she was ill, although the actual facts seem to have got more & more mixed up the more people discover Sohyang. She was actually still recovering from her latest bout of pneumonia ( it would be impossible to actual sing with pneumonia as it effects your lungs) and she had been told by the doctor not to perform as she wasn’t fully recovered, but typical of Sohyang, she didn’t want to disappoint the people that had come to see her perform, so went ahead with the performance. I think anyone who is familiar with Sohyang over a number of years would probably agree that she does look very pale & tired in this video, she looks like she has lost weight from her face also. The thing for me though is that even though this is still a brilliant performance by Sohyang , as a long time fan of this angel, I don’t this she is 100% here, I feel there is a little bit of strain now & again, which is something we don’t normally see from her & it’s a bit hard to explain, having seen every Sohyang performance available,hundreds of times, I feel there’s a little bit of Sohyang magic missing. Don’t get me wrong, it is a fantastic performance & if you just heard that performance without the thousands of hours that I have listened to her, you wouldn’t have any other thought than it was perfect. But we are talking here of a woman who has set standards that we haven’t heard before & it’s not that I think it’s a bad performance, Sohyang doesn’t do ‘BAD’ performances, i just think it’s very slightly less than her usual perfection. Before anyone has a go at me, I must point out, even after all that, which wasn’t meant as a criticism, just an observation from someone who truly believes that this beautiful woman is the best female singer on the planet, one of the best ever & I believe that she is a gift from god.

No matter what Sohyang sings, she injects life into you. She is the most extraordinary woman I know of. You can tie your behind to a piano and it will prove futile because Sohyang's performance will literally suck you into the emotion and power she exudes, piano and all! She is the most magical singer I have come across in my entire six and one half decades on this planet. Sohyang is a once in a lifetime singer. The guy in the video was Shane Filan of the Irish group Westlife. The television program was a tribute to him and his band, and every performer that night sang one of their hits. Westlife had a monster hit in the UK with "You Raise Me Up," thus Sohyang sang this in tribute to him. Shane told Sohyang that after hearing her version "the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up" and it was "amazing" and "outstanding!" Not hard to see why, eh? The music for the song "You Raise Me Up" was originally written by a Norwegian group called Secret Garden, while the lyrics were written by an Irishman named Brendan Graham. Mr. Graham saw Sohyang's performance and was absolutely thrilled by her rearrangement of the music and rendition, so he had the Irish embassy in Seoul get in contact with Sohyang to let her know that he felt her version was the best ever. Sohyang had to _really_ pull back on concerts after this appearance, and thought it might actually be the last one of her singing career due to the serious pneumonia. Thus the Irish embassy had a difficult time finding Sohyang but they did finally get a hold of her and delivered Mr. Graham's message. Other than this one performance, we know of only two other times Sohyang has performed this rendition of "You Raise Me Up," both in 2018. When she changes key there a couple of times near the end of the song and belts those high notes so powerfully, you expect her to actually lift off the stage and go into orbit! Yes, Sohyang is famous for throwing in everything and leaving it all on the stage--including the kitchen sink! Sohyang's music transcends genre, effortlessly blending elements of gospel, pop, jazz, and classical to create a sound that is utterly unique.

Can you believe it? She has suffering with pneumonia when this performance. . But it's true. .!!(She suffered from pneumonia about eight times between 2016 and 2018).. . and she slayed it legendary. . .she is amazing. . !!!

SoHyang is just brilliant! Love her. She and Vanny Vabiola, the best female vocalist in Indonesia both outsing Josh Groban on his own song. I don't know if you're reacted to Vanny but she's also one of the world's best and covers a lot of Celine Dion and others and has made me cry often.
