And it was so easy! For many performers IWALY is a high wire act, Whitney herself had to tone down the arrangement in her later years because the high belts and switches were a problem for her. So Hyang just opens her mouth and the sound comes out exactly as she intends it and at no point do you think she's anywhere close to the edge. Just love her so much.

Incredible!!! This is a stripped down, acoustic version of this iconic song, with just piano and guitar as accompaniment, performed outside, whilst sitting down, yet it was so easy for her. The clarity, resonance and emotion were mind blowing, and she also sang the sax part for good measure. Thank you for the reaction.

Damn, I knew I would forget. She sang "YOU RAISED ME UP" while she had pneumonia!!! If nobody told you she is 42 today and when she was 20 21 she had uterine and ovarian cancer. Bad needles she got Hepatitis B and occasionally gets pneumonia!! Well, she had it singing You Raised Me Up. Bet you won't notice!!

She is queen.. she is both powerful at techniques and also emotion. Her life is so inspirational.. she is devout christian singer who really more like singing to God more than fame/money which make us not much seen her on media/tv in korea even the world stage though she is worldclass singer vocalist ever!! Yet we can ussually see her more often her singing in chtuch or charities. She won from faught with cancer and kept her singing didnt give up in her illness. She is cancer surviver.and to sohyang, her goal is to use her voice to comfort people who are going through difficult times as she been through, these why ppl are emotionally in touch whenever she sing a song.... From me, an army💜😎

Vibrato isn't anything impressive for a vocalist of her calibre but what earns my appreciation is her tasteful use of it, and the same goes for her runs. Its esp. true considering singers with strong gospel/soul roots like herself often tend to overdo both. Her musical sense for such things have always been spot on and its gotten only better over the years. Its no wonder her renditions are so well respected, even by the iconic original artists and composers. Btw you've got to check out her rendition of "If I ain't got you" by Alicia Keys that she performed on this same show. Just search "So Hyang Beginagain" for the whole list.

That's right. Even her vibrato is special.💖😍 She mainly uses fast vibrato, which I think is more sophisticated and difficult than slow vibrato.

Just as Whitney Houston sang the original song in her own color to make the song shine, Sohyang sang the Whitney Houston version in her own color to make it shine even more

Ridiculously easy for her in the original key which allowed her to focus on the vibrato, dynamics (perfect pianissimo) and tasteful ornaments. We all obviously love her fifth octave belts but this arrangement reminds us that her chest voice is incredibly rich as well. Great reaction and I hope you do more from Begin Again and would especially appreciate a reaction to Day Day where she does some speed rap!

I'd love to see you to react to Leona Lewis - I will always love you. That version has the best chest to head transition I've heard in the climax (except whitney ofc). That transition is hard as fuck too lmao. It makes or breaks the performance for me

You definitely need vibrato for the climax of the song. At the beginning, I can give you some leeway. That being said, use whatever you have, LOL.

A couple of things, you have So Hyang in your blood, FANTASTIC!!!!!!! Another Korean one of the best KPOP singers is "AILEE" her I Will Always Love You, is also fantastic too. Now the third shock another Korean is "J. FLA" and she sings the best cover of Michael Jackson's "BILLIE JEAN"!! Don't match her with Ailee, just enjoy them both!!

Two parts of the trilogy, my friend!!!! There is another. Her Name is "AILEE" yes another Korean. She is one of the best KPOP singers in Korea. Her I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU is also fantastic and what you know what to look for I believe you will love this one too!! We must not forget Dolly Parton wrote this song and sang it in 1974 when Whitney was 11 years old!! Kudos to Dolly for giving us this great song.
