Couple of quick tips my Brother. You don't have to dilute the Chem the X-Jet at full strength is pulling about a .6-..7 mixture with the GPM of your machine. Use a surfactant, it holds the chem to the siding longer and helps the windows to clean up nice also apply from bottom up and rinse from top down. Good luck!

Keep diluting the Chem. Your ratio is a 1.6-1 with the XJet wide open. Which would be about a 7% with 12.5 SH. It's easy to look up the chart and see the ratios

So I recently found out that when running hoses across sidewalks you need to have a sign on each side of the hose alerting people… blew my mind. May vary per state I’m not sure. At the very least I always put cones

It’s going to be hard to find a 4gpm and tools for just $400. A 4gpm will cost $600 or more alone unless you find on Facebook. I started with a $250 2.6 gpm from northern tool since I was just starting and on a budget. I got that with a $100 surface cleaner attachment from Walmart. If your budget is $400 I would start with a 2.6 gpm, land a few jobs, then use that money to buy a 4 gpm

2.5 gallons of bleach to 2.5 gallons of water gives you 2% in a 5 gallon bucket. How much does the ratio change with the xjet just curious. I know to achieve a 2% on a downstream you have to fill the whole 5 gallons with bleach. That’s assuming your injector is a 4 to 1.

  • @lukeraglin

Hello from Winnipeg, Canada. Good job Luke. An even better option is to google search "chemical manufacturers in my area", and source it straight from them. Univar is the biggest Chem supplier & manufacturer company in North America, so they'll likely be in most major cities. I get 25 and 55 gal drums of 12.5 % SH starting at $150(25gal). They'll have a deposit you'll have to pay for the drum.for the 25gal drums it's a $90 deposit. Some Chem companies will let you bring your own drum/tote to fill at their facility. I also buy my sodium hydroxide, sodium percarbonate, and oxilic acid from the same place by the 50lb bag. Waaaay cheaper in the long run than anywhere else to go straight to the source and buy bulk. ✌🏼 Good luck dudes

I use an xjet as well. You turned the nozzle multiple times which changes the amount of pressure provided. The twist nozzle is supposed to replace traditional rinsing nozzles ( yellow, white tip, all the way to the hazardous red tip) you went from a 65 degree to a damn near 5 degree tip multiple times on a single story building. Don’t know why you kept rubbing the siding too. Other than that good job I do the same thing where I put the xjet hose back in the bucket on rinse mode so it doesn’t leak out. I am planning on buying a 4 gpm and downstream injector by April. As great as the xjet is the sad reality is you need more than that to properly wash houses in a timely fashion and there’s a reason why all the big company’s downstream. You said your pressure washers only 2.5 that doesn’t matter 3000 psi can easily do damage using the wrong tips. If you buy the “downstreaming nozzle it allows you to put sh up high at low pressure. It’s a totally different nozzle. No hate just want to let you know what I’ve learned.
