I really loved this episode even as a single woman. It's great to see PD (or any Pastor) in a humanistic role outside of the pulpit (yet still ministry) making it all more relatable . This episode will will definitely get a lot of hits and help improve the MARRIED SOFT LIFE among couples.

As a Nigerian, the soft life is all about removing any unnecessary stress from your life. This leads to a happier, stress-free and, peaceful life. It's all about you first and the rest trickle down to people around you. This episode was good though, I love the transparency 😊🎉

I’m only 3 minutes in and I’m already loving the transparency here. Marriage is not heart eyes and roses all the time. At times it can be challenging. I just celebrated my 10th Wedding Anniversary with my husband, and I can confirm that conversations like those had in this episode certainly have their place. Get you some friends who have real talks like this. ❤

My Husband is amazing, I guess he is naturally wired to provide. For many years my husband took my car to the gas station, washed my car, start my car before i got in it. He has a servant heart. He is disabled now, so he does not do as much. However providing for each other is the deal. I have traditional values. We were tender and kind with each other. I cooked, baked, clean, and provided a safe place for my husband and children. At each stage in life, needs and want change, we just have to be careful to check back in with each other and make sure we are still on track with our love language.

I now understand my husband’s struggle through PD’s explanation of “Individual’s needs” instead of a blanket, one-size-fits-all approach. Laticia, I see your heart and find your reasons for appearing a little rough relatable. You are helping and equipping us with the proper terminology to effectively address and find the resolution we aspire to.

I loved just listening to the conversation. It lets you into their world as married people and I feel like so many married couples have these same struggles. Because we don’t experience ourselves we only experience the other person often times we want grace even when we’re cutting you. Many of us were not taught how to process our emotions and that’s why these conversations are so important. Love the openness and honesty❤

This was an excellent episode. I took away a few key things pertaining to marriage. (1) Men want women to be “soft” and to me this means show affection, love on them, allow them to be the “man”, take care of them and they will naturally take care of you. (2) My sense was that these women are so used to driving and controlling (as a result of protecting themselves due to past trauma or past poor teaching) it has created a bit of tension in their marriage. They want to be treated a certain way but their husbands have been on a roller coaster ride based on the “control “ these women want to have. These women want to be treated delicately and pursued but their actions often say otherwise and honestly these men seemed confused. In other words their actions are saying “I got this so these men have stepped back and said go ahead then.” My mom would say: -Men are actually very simple and sensitive. There is only room for one head in a home and it is the man’s role to be the head. Let him lead. -Your role is to help and that is a critical and much needed role that perfectly complements a man who leads. You have to find your rhythm as a strong woman with a man who is wired by God to lead. -If women can let go of the control, allow themselves to be led consistently, learn how to communicate effectively (suggesting vs telling) than what they need will be met, heard and better received by their husbands. -Men need to be respected and loved and Women need to be respected and loved. The path to achieving that is great communication in words and actions. Words and actions have to align. *Lastly, when he said his grandmother cooked, I took away that he does not want her to be his grandmother but wants attributes of his grandmother like cooking for him.. that cooking represented care towards and for him.

Great conversation. Towards the end The Gardner's said one wanted gas and one wanted biscuits lol both fought what the other was asking. Just like Dr. Daniel's said, it's really accommodating and providing a space for your partner's needs. I picture it like this certain actions and words we use float...they feel like cotton or land on a cloud. Other words and actions we use fall on hard ground. It's like hail raining down. Lol Soft life is just that. It's the airy, cloud like action of love, appreciation, and recognition.
