Sofirn IF25a review - AMAZING beam shots in a DARK park (Samsung 40T vs Sofirn 4000mAh)

Ғылым және технология

In this beam shot review video, I went to a park to test out the Sofirn IF25a. I was very impressed with the output. This light is becoming my 'go-to' light that I carry everywhere in my left pocket.
I use both a Samsung 40T (4000mAh) and the included Sofirn 4000mAh battery that was included in this kit. Let's see which is brighter!

The Sofirn IF25a is a high-powered budget flashlight that is capable of producing over 4000 lumens! I've looked around and this is the only light you can purchase with 3800-4200 lumens for only $30. It has the highest lumens to dollar ratio to my knowledge.
The Sofirn IF25a comes with 4x Luminus SST-20 emitters in either 4000/6500K. I purchased the 6500K model for this review as it produces more lumens than the 4000K.
This torch exceeded my expectations in terms of the user interface, and overall quality. It's one of the smallest 21700 cell flashlights you can buy (am unaware of one smaller than this).
Anduril 2 is a useful UI that has various complex features. I was put off by the complicated diagrams and almost didn't get it. But actually, you don't need to touch any of those advanced functions if you don't want. I stick with the ramping modes and candle mode which is really cool and produces a flickering candle effect!

Can you do the comparison with the ceiling bounce method with a lux meter or lux meter app which is widely available for iOS and Android. The camera usually makes adjustments so that usually the viewer won't be able to see what you actually see but with the ceiling bounce method + lux meter we will be able to see the difference.

that's genius, I just installed the app. I don't have a proper lux meter but have been researching and get one eventually. I'm only just getting back into lights. Will charge all 3 batteries (40T, Sofirn 4000/5000mAh) to max and run that test tomorrow. Do you know if there's a way to measure overall lumen output from the app? I've seen people use joined PVC pipes or spheres, but connected to an actual lux meter.

@@DarrenYeoYT To measure the actual lumen of a flashlight we need an integrating sphere to captures all of the light and distributes the light equally so that it can be measured accurately regardless of whether the flashlight has a small hotspot or a wide flood. So there's no way we can measure lumens with just an app, PVC tubes/spheres are the most affordable tool we can use to measure lumens but even then it usually won't be as accurate as lab grade integrating spheres.

Ok I ran the lux app on two phones at the same time with IF25a - there's no difference between using the 40T vs the Sofirn 4000 or 5000mAh cells. Though the Sofirn 4000 is a little brighter than 5000. I ordered two Samsung 30T cells to retest. Apparently the lowered internal resistance of those cells can create 4400 lumens with IF25a.

Would you be able to please test this if25a with an 18650 battery to test the output?

Only some button top 18650s will fit. They will have reduced output unless you can find one with high discharge rate. Some of the Samsung ones would be your best bet.
